Dan sat quietly in his waterfront home contemplating the situations his life had been thrown in. His power had lately gotten him fired, had his girlfriend leave him, and accidently burned all his cash. He was screwed. All he could do was roam. He got into his car and drove, thoughts flying around his mind.
Elena silently kicked at the punching bag hanging from a chain on her back porch, counting each time she made contact with it out loud.
"Seventy six... seventy seven... seventy eight..."
The chain constantly creaked from the pressure, but that was normal. She had her hair pulled back behind her head, and it was obvious that she'd been at this a while. Beads of sweat dripped down from her face to the ground, a combination of the workout and the 110 degree weather today.
Morgoth climbed onto his motorcyvle and stepped on the gas. He roared through the streets of New Mexico, headed for Arizona, the home of gas elementalist, Elena.
"Ninety eight... ninety nine... one hundred."
She stopped kicking the bag, the constant pounding and creaking of the chain and bag slowly subsiding. Elena walked over to a large wooden pole sticking out of the ground, with smaller, one foot poles sticking out of it in almost every direction, and grabbed a towel hanging from it. After wiping off her face, she threw the towel back at the bag and started to practice defensive stances on the posts, quickly hitting each small post with her elbow and wrist, movements faster than any normal person could muster.
Meanwhile, Vlad had been running a new program he'd designed all for himself. It combined a number of methods to compile a profile of any person he was hunting down. The program had been running for at least an hour when it finished. It read:

"I guess I'm heading West then." Vlad said to himself after seeing this information. This was by far his biggest job yet. He decided he would take a flight to Arizona and then search the areas in the southwest for this Morgoth character.
Morgoth roared into Arizona's desert. He roared straight into Elena's house, causing breakage to the wall.
Over the next few days, Dan gradually lost track of where he was going. He stopped in a small town, asking the people there where he was.
"Yer in Missouri, boy!" Was the most intelligent answer he got. A hasty thanks, and he continued driving, but something urged him to stop in a small town.
"What the hell could be here?" He said to himself, but something inside him urged him to look around.

"What the...?"
Elena stopped at the loud noise, not normally seeing or hearing 'anyone' else out here. She crept towards her back door, thinking to herself, 'if this is a break-in, they sure picked the wrong person to steal from...'
She opened the door, making her way into her study, grabbing the sheathed blade she had hanging on the wall. Couldn't be too careful.
((After you're done meeting Elena in Arizona can we skip ahead a few hours so Vlad can get on a plane and go to Arizona?))
