Your stance is completely understandable in many situations. If the issue is youth, then I can have faith that you will grow up and learn. If the issue is a sheltered life, then maybe I can look around for some links to expose you to a greater knowledge base. If the issue is closed-mindedness, then you probably won't be open to learning new things. If the issue is... I dunno... what is the source of your naivete?

That's a hard question to answer, since it requires stepping away from oneself and gaining perspective on one's own life. I know introspection is difficult for me... it's difficult for most people. I'll understand if you can't answer it.

Subduction may stuff it but you may or may not know that the top plates are continental plates and the bottom plates are oceanic plates hence that eventually in places there will be a continental plate going under an oceanic plate which could then reverse itself we dont know but one day we may be able to do that sort of thing was just a suggestion but it goes to show that is a Continental plate is always on top then can they swap over once the oceanic part of the plates are swallowed up?

As the thicker portions of the plates near each other, that situation may change. One plate is sliding under the other. BUT when the landmass of the lower plate reaches the top plate, the two plates may buckle upwards. This would create an Himalaya-like mountain range at the point of impact. The collision is many years far into the future, anyway. We should have flying cars by then ;)... or be extinct (more likely).

Pangaea did exist not by just rock records but fossils too. The teutonic plates constantly move to this day.

The Nazca plate pushing into South American plate created the Andes. Likewise for the Indo-Australian & Eurasian plates which created the Himalayas. It might be a good time to point out the Himalayas are only 25million years old. One of the youngest range of mountains we have today. It's why they are so high.

Remember the Earth isn't solid, but it's a crust over molten rock. And this is what makes the plates constantly move.

Of course, human evolution goes back much further than that. Underlying all our evolved brain there lies the lizard brain. The Amygdala shapes our emotional responses and drives our "fight or flight" mechanism. It is the oldest part of the brain and is present in all vertebrate animal species. Some days I think the lizard brain is becoming dominant again in some people.

On plate tectonics, it's real, it happens and events vary in size from minor trembles to planet changing (life destroying) major events. But there is no timetable and we understand very little about it, so we aren't good at predicting events. We can look back and see what happened before but we really can't predict what will happen or when it might happen for the future.

over the course of earths history (4.5 billion years) there has been more than 1 supercontinent....pangaea was the last. i believe the total land mass on earth has come together and split apart 3 or 4 times. Austrailia is currently working its way north at a rate of about 1cm a year. tibet is sinking under its own gravity after being thrust upwards by the collision of india. the earth is awsome indeed.
