Overview:
Riddle threads have come and gone, but none have ever lasted very long because A) the organizer leaves or becomes disinterested; B) the thread lacks creative riddles; and C) there is no incentive to answer.
I have decided to start a new type of riddle competition. Every day I shall post a riddle in the OP (here) for everyone to view. The person who gets it right first shall be awarded a point. At the end of a two week segment, the user with the most points will win a prize! Isn't that exciting?
After every two week segment, I will update the Winners section of the OP with the winner of the previous two week segment.
Rules:
~You may post as many times as you like with an answer, EXCEPT you may not edit your original answer to something different, and you must wait until at least one other person posts after you until you may answer again.
Example: If Simi posts an answer, she may not edit it. She must also wait until LordMac posts after her before she can answer again.
**If you edit your answer it will be considered void**
~PLEASE refrain from just Googling the answer. I will try to make up as many riddles as I can, but sometimes I may end up succumbing to the internet. By using copypasta answers it ruins it for everyone. Please play fair.
~For each riddle you answer right, and you are the first one to get it, you will be awarded a point and your name will go on the leader board along with your point tally. If you have the most points by the end of a two week span, you will be awarded a prize and the title of Daily Riddle Competition King/Queen (for bragging rights only)
~In the result of a tie (at the end of a two week segment), the people who tied will both/ all be named King/Queen
~ I will now be posting the new riddle at around (hopefully, anyways) 9PM GMT -8. I apologize you you guys overseas, but 9 PM is about the only time that I am home and online usually every night.
~I will also accept ALTERNATE answers to the riddle that make sense and comply with all lines etc. You must justify all your points, I will not nitpick for you.
~ Limit of 2 points per round per person
Prizes:
This segment's prize is an avatar proclaiming your skillage at solving riddles!

And reputation points from me, Revoltion. If anyone else is willing to rep the winner, I'd be thankful.
NEW RULE: Effective immediately, Posting duplicate entries , will make you lose 30 points, and if possible, gain you a red rep from me.
Current Rankings:
Bree Fletcher: 1
Khalee: 4
Morgan Le Fay: 1
Current riddle:
A bus driver was heading down a street in Colorado. He went right past a stop sign without stopping, he turned left where there was a "no left turn" sign and he went the wrong way on a one-way street. Then he went on the left side of the road past a cop car. Still - he didn't break any traffic laws. Why not?
You are the elements.
Light refracting through the clear fur(alternatively, snow covering any bear will make it appear white),
sand in the eye (earth),
water will eventually become pee after you drink it,
wind will muss their hair,
water in the form of precipitation can ruin a celebrity's hair or clothing,
the dark can obscure vision, leading to cases of mistaken identity,
flame will cook a pancake,
carbonation in the champagne (air),
squeeze a balloon filled with air,
stare at the sun too long, and the it will do irreparable harm.

How do you explain this line using your elements theory, Rota?Quote:
I make celebrities look stupid and normal people look like celebrities
By the way, Nest got the answer already.
I missed that one as I was making the reasons, I have edited to fix that.
I know Nest got the traditional answer for that riddle, but that doesn't mean there aren't other valid responses. I enjoy trying to figure out valid replies to riddles that are not the "expected" answer. As long as the answer fits the riddle's criteria, then it is a correct response.
He's back in town, and looking for your new phone number.
How do the elements make normal people look like celebrities?
