Could be a pyramid? No hinges, and lots of gold. Doesn't require any keys, either. And technically, the base structure of a pyramid is a box. The tombs and rooms inside are box shaped.
If not a pyramid, could be a computer-- no keys, no hinges, and shaped like a box. The "golden treasure" is the information inside.
Pandora's box COULD have no hinges, and it definitely had golden treasure inside =P
Any building shaped like a box with gold inside and without a lid or hinges can be an answer to this...
