Fact 1: It takes ~3,000 flawless gems on average to get ONE gear set to 15 stars.
Fact 2: Flawless gems drop on server Na4 (the server I game on) about 20%-30% of the time IF you hit level 9+ NPC's.
Fact 3: It will take 10,000 attacks on level 9+ NPC's in order to get enough flawless gems to upgrade 1 gear to star level 15.
Fact 4: That is 27 attacks EVERY DAY for an ENTIRE YEAR just to get ONE gear to 15 stars.
Fact 5: Players lose troops for every NPC attack they make in order to get gems. The amount of troops lost on the NPC attacks will limit the number of attacks a player can send per day.
Fact 6: Not all players can send 20-500 attacks EVERYDAY for an entire year. We have lives, you know.
Fact 7: There are 13 gears that we must get to star level 15. Depending on the amount of attacks a player can send on average over an entire year, it will take YEARS for non-paying players to reach a 15 star set. YEARS. As in MULTIPLE.
Fact 8: 3,000 flawless is the AVERAGE. It could easily be 6,000 gems burned on one gear, easy. It could also be 1,500. But 3k is the average.
Fact 9: Across ALL Age II servers, to date only 21 players have full 15 star sets... and they all spent between $6k-$10k USD to get them.
Fact 10: What Chaswazzer said. The chance of success rates do not reflect what happens in the game. I routinely fail 3,4,5,6 times in a row when a star level has 65%-85% chance of success. The chances of success/failure do not reflect real world game results. You guys need to fix the math on it. Today I failed again FOUR times in a row in a 85% chance of success. Funny thing is, happens all the time. It is beyond frustrating. You guys have something messed up. Please look into it.
So, yeah, gems drop often compared to other items. And yes, players do not need to buy them. But if you look at the number of gems required as well as the time it will take to get them for non-spending players... it is nearly an impossibility.
