ok... I was thinking it was earlier than 90, but I never had really pursued figuring it out for sure...
I'd like to again talk about the problems that the nerfing caused and make a suggestion on changes, but you all roadblock that. :sigh:
To an extent, I agree with the OP that the better start can be had on older servers, but that comes with the caveat of really needing the help and friends so that hopefully you're not just wiped out.
Even with that though, it might be a better start, but unless you're doing the whole fleet of alts thing, you're not going to catch up to the hero levels of those of us who have been around for all this time. Most of us that are still remaining are entrenched, and if you start encroaching on territory, you'll get wiped out.
people "Flock" to the new servers cause they are too noobish to be able to play on the big servers, or they are "server jumpers" who just play for the first few months of the server, then if they arent big enough or if they get killed they go to a new server. its like making a fresh start.
starting on any of these older servers would be horrible ideas IMO. Yes drop rates are much lower on new servers, but they are that low for everyone. Why would i start on a server and recruit my lvl 1 hero when there are 5 pages of heroes over 1k attack? Any extra cities i could obtain due to more easily increasing my title surely would be quickly swiped away from me as i would be microscopic on that server. Solution? start on a new server where everyone else is recruiting that same low hero and farming desperately for medals just like me...So pretty much your answer is : even-footing
medals are too much hard to find ..
im prinz. but i spent 100-150$ on the game...:duh:
WN1 need merge :)
@Aetius I've thought of starting on an old server before but the thing that always stopped me was the heroes. There is no way that somebody could start from scratch and have a competitive hero on a 2 year-old server. How often would that player get to attack? Once a month maybe? Then back to rebuilding to replacing losses so that they would have equitable numbers of troops as other players. It is all fine and good if the alliances there are helpful and give you cities and resources but I have a hard time believing that they would be willing to give you the massive amounts of resources for as many months as it would take to grind out competitive heroes. We're not just talking main hero here, but additional heroes for arch trade-fire or mech attacks and poli heroes for wall/defensive and resource-generation purposes.
Really, the only way it would be feasible within an acceptable time frame is by taking a quitting player's account and, for me, that's just not an attractive option. I like to build for myself, thank you very much.
You know very well that on the "new" server there are insta heroes week 1 and 1k+ attack week 4, and after 3 months, you have 2 pages of insta archers heroes, but are stuck with the low medal drop rate. A top experience player will thrive on any kind of server, and will grow his hero/es fast. Those players are what i would call the critical mass, and they are present on any server. But if we talk here about your average player, who cannot or does not know how to farm his way to prinzz in 4 weeks, they will get stuck to low rank and therefore widening the gap even further. Having some free time during last Christmass, i started from scratch on another "old" server and i grew up my hero to 370 level in 1 month. Is not big, but is decent, and you know is possible. What rubbs me the wrong way is the fact that when i capture a good hero on the "new" server, I dont have the medals to persuade him, so what is the point for hero hunting, you tell me? :)
I don't know why people complain so much about medals. Even in new servers it's so easy to find them.
A bunch of people in my alliance in server 151, including me, are already Furstin, all from medal farming alone.
The problem with starting late in old server is hero. Everything else is solveable.
Point is to weaken the player in question by capping his/her hero n u can choose to keep it in ur FH(til u can persuade it) or dismiss it rite away. Im sure that u dont need heroes n if u really do then u make ur own ones. I believe its good tht heroes "disappear" from the game n I really hope to see more dismissing in the future coz IMO it is more fun if high lvl heroes r more rare n it also prolongs the lifecycle of a server!
The second thing I wld like to bring up is LOSS. What is loss? Lets say one of ur members lose their "main" hero. Most likely u will just send him a hero as good as the one he lost n he can persuade it rite away which makes his loss really NO LOSS. On a new server it really hurts to lose a good hero n Im not saying it dsnt hurt to lose a good hero on the old servers but its almost painless compared to losing one on a new server. I think u get my point.
Now let me counter one of ur future arguments tht prolly looks sumthing like this: "But there r more high lvl heroes on new servers n already after a few weeks there r many inst arch heroes." I say YES ur rite BUT the activitylvl is much much higher on the new servers n a more fair comparation wld b average herolevels per active player. To make it more fair we shld compare average herolevels per active player 3months into the server, 6 months into the server n so on....but unfortunaly we cant do that coz no one has the early numbers of the old servers.
...which means, there was insufficient

That's the only way those heroes get that high that fast. There is no "skill" to buying game coins...and the only way those players are "experienced" is the fact that they have jobs or other ways to pay for their advantages.
Again, non-disclosure of caveats...
i was addressing his statement that newer severs have pages of 1k heroes months in
btw my hero is third has 1119 attack and hes gotten a total of 7 onwars
On Wars are not the only way to higher hero values faster... Being able to have more cities means research gets done faster. Having speedups to help get the research done faster also means you can start attacking 10s faster. If you consider that even with a Intelligence hero at around 150, it takes over a week to research JUST Archery 10, then the tale about how it was all done with no money becomes a very tall tale indeed...
yeah either evony has made it easier on the newer servers to train heros, or else they are ill gotten. ive been training my hero from scratch for like 2-3months now and hes only 230att, though he could be around 300att if i really went crazy with 10 farming. but by the time you get to lvls like 1000+ your hero needs like 30is or so hits on a 10 PER lvl. so do the math and even if you had all lvl10's arround your city for like 5m from your city and farmed em each everyday for 6months, you still wouldint have enough experience.
Spending money on the game is not a "cheat", nor does it mean that the heroes are "ill gotten". The only issue I have with it is when people don't just come out and say that's what they did.
Also, like I said, On Wars aren't the only way to get there faster. If you buy your way out of the Rose Trap, meaning you buy your title up to at least Baron, if not Viscount, while everyone else is in Beginner Protection, and then also buy a bunch of speedups so that you can get the research done faster, you can start attacking higher level NPCs faster, and be able to have enough barracks to replace troops with...
I used to play on s13 back in the day. Evony was taking up to much time so i quit :( I decided to come back and the newest world was 151 so I joined. I agree with this thread the new worlds are not nearly as good as the old ones. Unfortunately my account on s13 got canceled for inactivity. So newer servers are my only chance to build up army before getting killed.
