Jurnis, are you saying that all suicide is stupid? It's a touchy subject but...

Suicide isn't inherently bad. I'm not advocating it at all, nor suggesting it's a route anyone should take to solve any problems, but suicide isn't always wrong or bad or immoral or stupid.

What about the timeless war story about a man jumping on top of a live grenade to save the lives of a dozen of his fellow soldiers? Or the 88 year old cancer-ridden grandmother who chooses to pull her own plug in order to lessen the financial responsibilities and grief of her impoverished family who spend every available cent on her care and every free moment at her bedside watching as she whithers away to skin and bones? Or Hunter S. Thompson? He wanted to end his life. He told his family. He was prepared. He was tired of being alive and ready to see what was going to happen next.

Let me see, we have come to the point in forum history where one makes a thread about being witty; and then decide to stick it in the OT. I can see spam has evolved since I have left. In the old days, I mean a year ago or so, this would have been closed. I think it should be.

Here is my reason why, and it has to do with wits. First of all in the end this is a website where one types. By typing something the time for others to see it takes longer, so opportunities are lost. Second because nobody in here speaks face to face, how do you have a battle of wits? The answer to that is by typing. Now refer back to the first point and I believe the conclusion is made that one cannot have a battle of wits online.

Therefore the question needs to be asked. Why is this thread still open? I hope someone sees my logic.
