I saw a guy with 1 of each and the rest in dts. Im not sure Id use that mostly because Im not sure what exactly dts hit or how much damage they do. I guess I always assumed they only hit mechs. But then again Im only guessing. I love Cd and have used it for a year now..
All traps can be taken away with warriors

Build a load of traps? Well that's easy I'll send a few scout bombs and then go in with an archer rainbow and if needed hammers. You don't have the range bonus for your archers you get off your AT's.
Traps fire off randomly so although you'll have a lot of them they won't stop ranged units.
Seems as though you guys DONT want me to try this lol. I wouldnt do it for a GOOD defence, only for a wierd one...........to see peoples reactions and whatnot, ill probly do a full abatis one in the second city i make/steal

*edit2 and the guy didn't say anything about a troop configuration, full traps and smart troop play would be fine, but full traps and crap troop play wouldn't be fine
damn you really put allot of work into removing some traps - me personally would talk about what to send when i actually know what troops are in the city - but thats just me. what you think your SB gonna do? and your arc rainbow?and your hammer? (lol at sick)

if there is a tower for the archer to climb on top of then he can shoot farther
if there isn't a tower... then he can't climb on top of it

if it's all traps and he has over a certain number of archers, some wouldn't have anywhere to shoot from because it's so crowded and may actually have to stand inside the trap which takes away from their range
I could be completely wrong here, but since this post is now in the forums, maybe someone will read this, grasp the concept, and take it to heart

I replied to what Morgan posted cause i did not agree with the whole thing! i like to see how people that think they know all explain their stuff. .... just like she did with the AT bonus ...none else knew about that till yesterday ;) so maybe now we need more then just 1!!!! SB to remove traps...?
i mean a trap city...and she goes in with some SB arc rainbow ... and if needed some hammers????? i was hoping this would be explained.... so that all understand why that would be the best method ...
btw i know pretty well what troops do in what situation... ;)
Anyone here ever try a full wall of logs? Also does anyone think that it would be worth trying to honour drop with logs? I realize trebs are more efficent, but there is pretty much nothing else new to try in this game lol
I'm pretty sure dts are range setters only turning the battle space from 1700 to 5200
But I would at least have 10 of every other wall defence instead of however many of wat ur trying to use at that moment
I would use trebs for it cause they use stone not lumber- but I don't dump honor anyways.
I wonder what 5k ATs, and the rest logs would do with a CD. Probably not much but lol would be neat to see
Ok from the top shall we.
55k traps are a lot of traps so scout bombing a few out (remember the defender could be on line and shutting his gates).
Now as we all know traps have a 5k range so working on the basic principal of 5k defense and attack we would send an archer rainbow or 2 depending on the troops layers. As there are no AT's, defending archers also run out and enter the tradefire. Once the layers are gone then send in the hammers to take out the remaining archers.
This is the basic stuff boys and girls.

this does not work like that and is just simple wrong. you cant kill troops that not there? who said there arc in the city?
you cant generalize attacks.... it all depends on the troops in the city!
boys and girls please dont do that! special not on an online player - you will lose all your stuff and kill nothing then few traps and some small layers...
Wouldnt the perfect online defense be 17k ats, 800 logs, 120k archers, 65k balista 10k pults. 500k warriors that can be moved in and out to stop scout bombs and enough open spaces in walls to add traps or abs when needed? Have a layered city close enough you can tose some over if and when needed.
Ive used this basic defense in my towns without having to have massive armys and never lost a fight even vs half an alliance hitting me with mechs archer waves scout bombs and cav smacks. Just moving the warriors in and out and keeping walls set for needed changes brings almost no loses. Add a cav when needed here and there otherwise its simple and easy to defend with very little.

People seem to be posting what they would normally use on walls........................this is supposed to be weird wall defences, not normal wall defences.
Have been thinking about a 1/4 trap, log, abatis, DT
20k abatis, 15k traps. Pony wave that city!!!

How about, for the time you online, not to have any wall def at all? you can always build last min...

i use full treb citiy for war city i know most usually use it for there farm cities ect for others to hit them to lose there honour, but in a war city to port to enermy terriorty and if they get a scout off u they are puzzled what to do, when u port there u do most of the attacking very lil defending, they usually send smaller spam therefor close gates lose honour then to the bigger waves open gates war city can usually always defend with ease
