Yeah, this is the mentality that allows abysmal drop rates and other "changes" like this to continue. You may have all the time in the world, but the majority of players who have complaints about this issue don't. No one should have to sit around for 24 hours attacking the same valley 1100 times to medal. Who really has time for that? Gaming is not supposed to envelop your life, it's supposed to be a stress relief and an enjoyable experience. You call it commitment when in reality you're just providing an excuse to allow the developers to perpetuate the same hardcore grinding motif of other MMO's (which grinding MMO's are a dying breed now, by the way) when this game is supposed to be readily accessible to the new school as well as the old school. It is a browser game ffs. Players like yourself are the reason that things people have a legitimate right to complain about, as consumers, don't get fixed because you'd rather put your own bias first and skewer the perspective of others and unduly influence the developers rational by allowing them to think that this must be the viewpoint of the majority of their client base when it is, in fact, not.
If only nations were easier to find or you could use other medals for good hero persuasion....
You claim to have achived Furstin in the first 2 weeks of a server with straight farming and no coining.
Unless you got a real fortunate spin of the wheel, then it is absolutely 100% impossible to do what you claim WITHOUT spending money in 2 weeks time.
If you did get a fortunate spin of the wheel, like medal boxes or cents, then what you're claiming is misleading at best. If you did the $30 package and bought boxes to get a head start up to Baron, then what you're claiming is both misleading and disingenuous.
Otherwise, I call shenanigans. Period. End of story.
You simply do not grasp how HUGE an advantage that third city is. The additional academy, barracks, marching slots, and resource fields from just one additional city give you a much larger advantage over someone starting from an account with no spending at all.
This is the problem I have with anyone claiming uber-greatness on medal farming, is that there is always this undisclosed little bit of information that you SIDESTEPPED part of the effort.
Frankly, since I've called you on one thing, everything you say is now in doubt, because if you left out that "minor detail" about the $30 package, what else did you potentially leave out?
Such as...
You've likely spent more than $30 to be able to have 30K archers by the 3rd or 4th day into the server. Also, you'd need the technology levels up to not have massive losses, so you'd have to have a bunch of speedups too.Quote:
With just 30,000 archers I am capable of hitting 4 valleys close to me per hour and I end up doing this by day 3-4.
Sorry. Shenanigans.
they need to increase the drop rate by maybe 10%. then i would be happy lol
and if you are too lazy to valley huntQuote:
I grasp exactly how advantageous it is. Why do you think I parted with $30 to get the third city. The more you reply, the more ridiculous you come across.
You can tapdance if you want, but you at the VERY MINIMUM heavily implied that you didn't spend anything, especially with the word "lazy" being thrown about.Quote:
So now it is undisclosed. I thought you claimed I said I didnt spend any money.
With the amount of vitriol spewing forth from your fingers, I think I've pretty much determined that you didn't earn the title - you bought it.Quote:
Titles need to be earned now and that annoys people like you.
I don't have a problem with the fact that you bought it. I do, however, have a problem with you trying to claim otherwise.
Take care.
Look, I have no qualms with you or your abilities. I do have a problem with your assumption that if everyone just put aside 12 hours of farming they could do it too. It is that kind of mentality that prohibits change, whether it be good or bad. Simply because you have the time to do something does not make it safe to assume that other people do too. I am a full-time worker and graduate student, and yes I have hit prinzessin in both Ages, and to be quite honest I don't have a problem with the drop rates. However, I do take into account that other people might not feel the same and that, provided they give a logical reason or I can step out of my own bias to see things from a different perspective, and even if my opinion differs from theirs, they might not be wrong about what they're saying.
But on topic about the medal drop rate, I really don't think it would hurt either the casual or "hardcore" players if it was increased just a bit. I don't think anyone's asking for ludicrous 50% medal drop rates on hits, but I also don't think it's too much to poll active players and find a fair value to increase the drop rate to.
The reduction in the medal drop rate was done to make the company money. They knew that they made it way too much for the casual player to accomplish in any reasonable timeframe, and even frustrating for dedicated players.
Why is it you think that they "reset" the $5 deal all the time? What comes with that deal? You get 50 game coins, but you also get 1 of every medal type. I had a situation on server 149 where I did about 50 attacks a day (the most I could do given my tech levels and available valleys within a reasonable distance, and amount of time that I had) and was stuck for about a month with needing 1 Rose medal to go from Captain/Baronet to Colonel/Viscount. That $5 package would've "solved" the issue for me.
Frankly, if I were to coin a title, I'd coin up to Viscount. Rose medals are just too much of a pain, and Honor medals are not easy to obtain either. That's why I have so much of an issue believing any "I farmed my way to Furstin in the first 2 weeks" stories...
The problem is that this game REALLY should be about PvP. The money-grab makes the PvP elements generally out of reach for those who don't spend money or ENORMOUS amounts of time grinding, and as you said, grinding is going out of style. Not only that, it makes it to where a person is more likely to bot or account-share "to protect their investment", and it also makes the person's last city stick around and clutter the map if they happen to quit (the inactive policy does not apply to accounts that have spent money).
I think the bottom line is that random drops are random. :)
This is not true. We haven't changed the medal drop rate for almost 2 years in Age I, so whatever decrease you are talking about either happened 2 years ago, or you're just having bad luck. The drop rate is higher in Age II.
