My personal favourites.
Laryngaphone, 1929. A device adapted to really annoy the crap out of people via phone, yes it had an earpiece so you could hear, however the mouthpiece was fashioned/adapted to fit the throat to convey messages
Honourable mention also to the Comb Cap 1920 (only patented never produced) which concealed an inbuilt comb under the brim so that when the cap was removed your hair was automatically combed through.
So far this race's one core invention is money.
Everything in this society stems from it now...
