I absolutely LOVE this "justification" that's used to lobby for the use of bots. A bot can't really do anything more than a human can, other than it has no need to sleep, eat, go to the bathroom, sneeze, scratch an itch, blow its' nose, etc, etc, etc...
Nope, a software program has zero advantage over a human.
Oh, but wait, you said that it DID have the advantage, because "they do it 24 hours a day". :cheer:
So, let me see if I understand...
When someone says that a bot can create a higher level hero than a human not using a bot, you retort that it isn't true, but absolutely fail to mention that it COULD be true, if the human does not perform equal to or better than the bot.
That about sum that up?
Good.
Perhaps rapid "instant troops" is not directly caused by botting, and perhaps it happens because of coining, but I guarantee you that botting plays a very large supporting role in supplying those instant troop heroes with the higher level of resources they need, so please, let's stop trying to excuse and/or glamorize botting (saying it's a great source of food, if you can only farm it all the time).
Moving on...
People use the programs for one of two reasons:Quote:
If you want to eliminate the problem, you need to identify why people use those programs.
1) To get ahead because they "don't have time" / "have a life".
2) To stay competitive with people espousing reason #1 without investing additional time or money because they "don't have any more time" / "still have a little bit of a life".
The "root cause" is the drive of competition for people to be better than someone else, no matter if that person spends only a few minutes a day on it, because the person spending only a few minutes a day doesn't "have time" because they "have a life" is a greedy, selfish, spoiled child who thinks that they have the right to win at everything because they are them, and nobody can be better than them in anything they do, otherwise "it's not fair" because "I have a life, and it's not fair that some no-lifer can beat me".
I think I've finally had it with all the cheets that go on here.
The admins are either powerless to enforce their own rules or too greedy to punish the offenders, since those types usually also spend lots of money on excalibers, onwars, ivory horns, corselets, penicllin and anything else to buy their way to the top.
Now a lot of them are flaunting their alts, and using them as pre-attack sites and feeders, since evony randomly removes npcs from the server.
They may as well remove the rules, since they aren't doing much to enforce them.
This game is not worth spending money on, since the cheeters can take it all away with little effort.
Thanks for nothing, admins.
jeez close this thread someone
Alts and b0tting go together. There are a lot of people who create multiple accounts (even entire alliances) and then use the b0ts to manage the required labor. Why have a rule if you are unable or unwilling to enforce it?
Of course, some of the biggest violators are also the biggest customers, since they will inflate multiple heroes to the 1000 nd up levels with purchases of onwars and excalibers.
They also spend a fortune on the necessary battle accessories, like ivory horns, war ensigns, corselets, penicillin and, of course, teleports.
So evony will cower away from investigating a big spender because of the huge revenue loss if they take the responsible action and ban them.
