I liked some of her music. It's just tragic how her life has ended like this. I hope she finds peace at last.
I think the song is clearly about drugs and alcohol, not skin color.

When she sings "black" she is talking about escaping from her reality by using enough intoxicants to black out.
Also, check out this awesome performance she gave last month singing her single "Back to Black".
was it the alcohol that made her last that long? expected that to happen earlier...
she was old enough to know the what drugs and alcohol can cause -cant feel sorry for her
She was good singer R.I.P
I don't think she was a good singer. Kind of mediocre if you ask me.
You were just a civilian too like yesterday, James.
Her voice was very unique, I'll give her that. It's sad to see talent go to waste, but that's the only sad part of this tale, in my opinion.
I have never felt sympathy for those who destroy themselves. Suicide, overdoses, deaths caused from substance abuse (liver disease from drinking, etc.), I barely pity them.
I agree the Rasterbee, as usual. Amy's hit song was, 'I don't want to go to rehab.' Nothing about her death is a surprise or an unexpected occurrence. Furthermore, she was no where near the level of Hendrix, Morrison, Cobain. To even consider her as such is preposterous and doesn't do justice to them. It's insulting.
I'm offended.
But, Skirata is correct. Perhaps we can shift the topic of this thread to a discussion of lost celebrities. Yes. Glad everyone agrees!
Carry on. =)
We should just get married.

I will miss Richard Harris.
I still have no idea who amy winehouse is
Told my 19 yr old brother about her death and he was shocked. Surprised her knew who she was. But then again he is in a band and takes it upon himself to know people from all genres.
Relevant reposting of link.
who cares about the song
Did you watch my version of it?
other lost celebrities so that this thread isn't only about Amy Winehouse...
Gene Colan
Michael Jackson
Patrick Swayze
Clarence Clemons
Heath Ledger
I already asked about Jim Morrison. -_-
And Richard Harris.
I only heard of maybe two of those people. I just heard of Amy today. The only reason i know who Michael is, is everyone should know who he is. And Heath Ledger was the Joker in that Batman movie everyone claims to hate. Saw Patrick on the cover of some sleeze magazine in Wal-Mart looking like a walking skeleton. And the others idk who they are.
*looks guilty* I didn't mean to miss it....

Gene Colan - think Comics.. i cannot be the only one in this forum who's read them. Marvel anyone?
Michael Jackson - Everyone should know, don't pretend u don't.
Patrick Swayze - Think Dirty Dancing or Ghost
Clarence Clemons - Think Sax and E Street Band... if u till don't get it think Bruce Springsteen
Heath Ledger ... I admit to having a crush on him when he was alive... loved his movies 10 things I hate about you, The Patriot, A Knights Tale, Four Feathers, Brokeback Mountain (yes even though he kissed a guy, get over it), and The Dark Night obviously...
1. He was the Marvel guy? Guess I should watch more Spiderman
2. duh
3. don't think my mother is old enough to remember that
4. ???
5. He was in Brokeback Mountain? Considering I only saw like 15 of that movie in a car repair shop. Then my car was done so I left.
I've only watched it once. I know it's not the kind of movie people will regard as a classic piece of cinema 50 years from. I'm not some Heath fangirl mind you, but I was entertained. Maybe I was just really stoned and only really remember the bank robbery scene though.
