The last celebrity death to emotionally move me was Leslie Nielsen. The last celebrity death to shock me was Michael Jackson. Sadly, Winehouse's death was probably expected... I bet journalists had everything typed up ready to go for her because they expected it to happen, just like they do for Lindsay Lohan and Prince Phillip and other low hanging fruit on the tree of life.
Manly tears were shed for Leslie.
Think I'm the only one here upset about The Rev and Billy Mays
I never even heard of her until yahoo news, but RIP nonetheless
A heart attack brought on from snorting blow.
The only celebrity death that saddens me is the death of Carl Sagan. What a waste of life to for such a brilliant man to be stricken with cancer. . . A close second would be Richard Feynman. And yes, I consider these men to be celebrities.
Someone told me about this singer girl that died, the one with an horrific hairdo and makeup. So i was like; Gaga? But Nah...
I personally weren't such a big fan of Amy, but its a sad story.
Specially if you see what a gorgeous woman she used to be once...
Such a shame
JDM's initials are on the second picture.
I did a book report on that one two years ago. It was a very good story with some serious philosophical implications, but I did get frustrated at points. Such as the time when two characters (I can't remember names) were testing the power of science and faith with the pendulum. He showed that science was correct, the pendulum did not strike the scientist. But he didn't show the experiment from the point of view of the priest, who was going to move forward after releasing the pendulum instead of standing still. That is really my only complaint about the book though, it truly was a masterpiece.
I went and listened to a lot of Amy's music, and I take back my original statement. Her voice was not her only talent. Many of her songs contain meaningful, deep lyrics. Rehab was her worst song, yet her most popular. It's weird.
She did write her own music, right?
Winehouse was a sheep. Don't get confused.
Never heard of her, And i would like to have the minute that i watched her music video back, although it is sad that she died at such a young age.
Oh, her parents gave away some of her stuff (clothes) to fans.. those will pop up on ebay soon enough I bet. I think I like what he did tho, all the clothes would have no use for him, and the fans probably make the loss a bit more bearable...
I think it's highly disrespectful and insensitive. Selling your dead daughter's clothing? Giving it away to be sold? It's degrading her value as a person and an entertainer.
And so soon.. You know you see memorabilia of passed away people all the time, but you never hear of them being attained so soon. When John Lennon was shot, his things were not given away. The others in the 27 club? Well, if you can find me one of Jim Morrison's shirts or any of his belongings, please, let me know. ;)
Because a year from now they will be worthless. Daddy's gotta cash in while he still can. I'm sure what's her name (I did actually forget it already but I'm all sun-burnt and was out in the pond swimming around all afternoon so I'm a bit ditsy right now but still this girl wasn't that talented, just another dead addict. Good riddance.) didn't leave her parents much cash.
Well sorry I can't read English today, Luda.
Who cares then? He's not making money of his dead pop-footnote daughter. Why is this even being discussed then? If I died I'd want my parents to give away my stuff. I've got loads of cool stuff and it would be a shame just to trash it.
These are both tragedies , well listen to this.
Look at the news , you will hear no sign of the 150,000 people who die in Africa everyday 30,000 of these are children these are preventable.
Open your eye's what happened in Norway and Amy Winehouse is not even a raindrop in the ocean of disaster our world is in.
dying like this is not necessary how long is it going to go on for
There is no reason this should be happening , only we can ....STOP IT!
Read the bold :(
this was no surprise. and did she really have anything noteworthy?
Thomas Malthus positive and negative checks. That's my response to people all around the world dying of various horrific conditions.
This thread is for the discussion of Artists or Musicians that have passed away, but if you'd like to discuss what happened in Norway we have a thread for that too.
It's a tragerdy to music and those who she inspired. Many musicians like Adele, looked up to her and got inspiration from her. I also wanted to see what her music would have been like if she lived a few more years, perhaps after she did lost her crazy addiction.
