Sorry im not big into age 2 but this advice is still helpful,
I suggest you take screen shots of the reports, Crop them nice and give them a nice border to post as a picture, It makes the reports look nicer and people will look at them longer.
Keep the reports coming.

Fixed it. I have no idea why Evonyurl.com breaks all the time. Screw it, I won't use that tool anymore.
I got some good info out of the reports, thanx for posting these, WITH the hero stats. It would have been totally useless to me otherwise.

Notice a few things...
1. Compared to the reports in my original post you will notice the difference in the battles mainly due to my star differences... and it is not that different.
2. The fight lasted 4 rounds WITHOUT catapults in some cases.
3. With 1 gear at 1 star notice the damage. Not too different from a 12 star set when you compare to the reports in the original post

Ok japanpimp let me clear somethings up for you.
In the reports you posted layers had no point since the battle started with both enemy and friendly archers within range of each other. So the layers could have been 1 or 5k or 50k it wouldn't have kept your archers alive longer than round 1. You notice more kills in the reports with more defending layers because your extra layers crashed into opponent layers causing some damage. I like what you did with the archers instead of going with 1 big batch where most of your archers don't get queen bonus, but since there is not much point in what you are doing currently its probably best to reinforce over a hh from an ally or if you have one yourself. An ally hh can't be drafted and a hh cannot be lost on defense so there is no risk in doing it.
Your 2nd batch of reports are interesting because even though your arch count nearly tripled and your attack didn't change that much you still did about the same damage. That's because 100,000 of your archers were given a 850% atk boost so they had the attack of 950k archers and then you put in the 200k archers that weren't affected. That is why sending big batches of troops with heroes that don't have enough leadership is not good, but I think you already knew that.
If you want to break free from GhostDog you should put up a trap or abatis to increase battle range before the battle. Your archers have 50% more range than his due to wall bonus and you aren't taking advantage of that. In your first report you posted if you had had an abatis up you would have killed triple the amount of archers and nearly all of the cav and phract because you would have gotten free shots at enemy archers.
Why would the damage be different, damage is decided by attack. Star sets affect life. Stars do determine attack, but one star at level 1 doesnt make a big difference on the attackQuote:

In report 2, you get a perfect setup, he has no ballista or catapult defending, some cav in that case would have ripped open his archers. But you bringing a ballista to the fight re-defined the starting range. And prevented your cav from reaching his archers in the first round
You put a lot of effort into trying to understand how the evony combat mechanics work. My suggestion to you in that case would be to focus less on amount of rounds, and more on what happens in each round. That way the amount of rounds become self-explanatory
