For example:
Both valleys were level 10, i sent around the same amount of archers, and i carried home 900k more resource from the forest, is there a reason for this? :dizzy:

Yes forests drop more res ... why? I think it has something to do with lumber being needed more then iron for troops, wall d etc.
no no no, what the chances of you finding iron in any old hill? very low but if you go to a FOREST you will 4 sure find lumber.... it's as easy as that. next question plz.
I think the answer is simple.
In your city, you need more population to work in the iron mines than that of lumber mills.
Therefore, it stands to reason that hills would require more people in them to provide the same amount of res as in forests.
Just a thought though!
Isn't it in this order Food>Lumber>Stone>Iron?
Seems like the game was coded so it's always easiest to get food, and hardest to get iron (same for what Cuffs said in reply #5)
The amount of res you get is normally dependant on the experience your hero got from the fight. At a guess I would say you weren't hitting a fully regenerated hill.. but I could be wrong.
Um... you sent that same amount of archers, but were the valleys the same distance away from your city?
I've found that the amount of res you gain is generally 10x the hero exp you gain from killing the defending troops.
Valley level also has something to do with it I guess.
Both were level 10's :)
Both were in a 10 mile radius
I don't know about the experience thing, but nope, they were both fully regenerated valleys. Which is a shame about the hill :(
