Give them tough love... don't enable them. They don't have to like what you say, they just have to do what you say in the best interest of the entire alliance or move on and find one that they are better suited for. I rarely booted anyone from my alliance, and when I did it was usually because they repeatedly exhibited some form of prejudice, whether race, religion, or what ever.
oh ya... I enjoyed the hate mail... I usually posted it for my entire alliance's enjoyment, unfortunately I didn't get very much. I was a rather easy host to work with, even for my enemies LOL.
lol but when you're tired its annoying. i put some of a reeds whispers here and acer removed it within 5 minutes lol
Wellll you've had a lot of good suggestions but it really seems like you just want to complain. soo take it or leave it, bishing doesnt help anything
i was thinking of stepping down....i dont think im right for the position
Well, back on topic. I personally loved the hosting experience, or vice-host in some cases. Yes, it's time consuming, but when your alliance suceeds, you really get that sense of achievement. I also liked people looking up to me :P
People have someone to thank when things go well. On the downside, they have someone to blame if it all goes wrong.
I think many people are asked to host and feel responsible to the people they game with. I doubt many successful alliances are run by people who just want to feel in control. The reality is, you don't control much. At best, being a leader means you organize and coordinate your members. At worst, its like herding cats. :)
Hi, I'm Josh (LAW2 on 156).. I'm not host on this server but I have been on others. I don't find being host as a reason for power, more like a chance to help people. As well as that, the decisions to blue who you like red who you don't and so on... Like if you alliance is part of a group your the main man/woman and you know everything that's going on, instead if you were a presbyter you would probably only know half the story.. and your in a position to listen to the members and make changes as the alliance see's fit and wants.... I find it a good experience and a real bonding with the members... and good luck on 156 noticed your 12th now ;)
thats what v host presbyter are fore delegate the right people for that job takes some of the stress of you
and yes hosting is a pain in the ass but once u have a good team and the right v host's it dose get a lot easier
and remember u dont have to talk to every 1. personal when i have hosted it was to get the alliance started
and slowly took a step back after training people for the job who every 1 respected only stepping in if i had to
finaly dropping the host position so i could just enjoy the game with out diplo ,
it is hard though when people come up to you with a question you cant answer. How am I supposed to know if evony has done this or that or how many ballistas for a 1 npc, (when was the last time i farmed one of those?) and things like that it is painful to so I don't know, you almost feel like you are letting them down.
