If it was up to me i'd say:
Prinzessins should be individually picked by the mods, Furstin reqs should be prinz requirements and Duke shouldnt mean anything more then the other titles. give red rep to furstin & prinz and then make prinz take as many red rep points as they give. Them you'd find a more even system and everyone could stuff it on the subject of rep
I personally think applying would be better than being picked. You apply to join the group and a mod has to allow you in.Quote:

That's all I'll say on the matter, for now.
I, for one, would like to comment that the Server Sections are the most hateful part of the forums, not General Discussion nor Off-Topic. Server Sections has something neither part of the forum has, unity. Remember when the forums were merged? Well I moderated that section solo for two to three days before Boleslav got back from his vacation. I am not upset with Boleslav in any way, but I would like to comment that those three days as a moderator almost made me want to quit the team because of the amount of crap I had to take and hate people flung at me. Sure its better now, but honestly, the server sections still has the place as being the nightmare of the forums for me. I will comment more on this thread when I gather my thoughts. Kudos to Skirata for an excellent thread idea. I'll play some League of Legends with you now.
This was my first forum and reading previous posts I know that this was for many a whole new experience.
I must admit once I gained my confidence I was pleasantly surprised at the genuinely warm people I've met here. Yes there are trolls but they make it all the more interesting :p.
I haven't spent too much time in the server forums to really make a fair point on whether those are worse than OT or GD. The worse people I've personally met have been in GD, when something in Evony changes and the masses descend. Some just wanting to complain and look for answers to why this change has happened or whether anyone is going to fix the problem, others are looking for flame fest. It's the latter which I'll admit I detest most. [insert long winded grumble here]
Rep is very much overblown now and to be honest I've lost interest in it. It seems too many people worry about a number and unless it's removed entirely it'll always be a controversial topic. How do I feel about red rep being removed? A bit odd now it's not there anymore but if it stops the whining over being red repped then I can live with out it, after all I'm just as guilty of being over whimsical of it's use as many others have. It became a problem simply because of the ease it was to work up to Duke. Too many Dukes spoil the broth and all that.
Where ever you are on the internet people will always look for self-importance in their micro-kingdoms simply because their lives never matched up to what they hoped. No one can change that. Maybe that's what draws people here in the first place.
My main issue with this thread is that everyone is focusing on the issue of rep. Honestly, who gives two ****s? Oh he has 9 bars, she doesnt deserve it, yada yadda. Doesn't really matter. The more pressing issue of this is that the forums are dying. Sure its slowly but look at the activity level over the past year. Even the summer didnt manage to revive the forums drastically. The restricted topics and fact that any discussion thread that does make its way through the loopholes quickly gets closed for some reason or other, leaves us with the options of mindless spam, forum games, or topics about how crappy the forums are.
At the risk of getting an arse chewing.... Why don't the mods or even the forum members ask if Seriously off topic could be modified as it already is a mods and admin controlled place... could the rules there be modified to allow these so called "controversial" topics to be discussed but on the condition things remain civil with warnings/infractions/thread closings/removal from group etc... if the discussion gets out of hand? Could that not work? Just a suggestion for consideration though....
It used to have forbidden topics but it was changed back to normal forum rules.
Then can I ask the point of having it then? Seriously. That was the purpose of making it in the first place then changing it to normal forum rules? What. Is. The. Point. Can somebody explain that for us all?
