Ive been waiting on evony to fix the lag or what ever seems to be the problem on 160 and im getting tired of not being able to get on that server. Ive been hearing of free upkeep for this whole thing but i think we should get more than just upkeep. This seems to happen more than once a week and people are getting angry that it hasnt been fixed. I personality think that we should at the min get keys or more than 100 cents for all this. I know that shoulds crazy or harsh but it keeps happening and people are getting really angry that with all people spend on here that it cant be fixed.
I am honestly Offended that anyone would claim that the horrific and unrelenting lag on server 160 can only be our internet connection... EVERYONE on 160 complains constantly since about day 3 of the server about this lag... So forgive me but I must call BS on anyone claiming they don't notice any lag, because I have now met the ONLY person to claim they have only had lag on 160 due to their internet, and that is you Davemata, I love evony and have played for years, and never have I experienced lag like this... Do whatever needs done to get rid of it, but don't kill the server with captcha as I hear that can't stop the majority of the botting population anyway, it just kills members like myself who put in long hours to make something of ourselves and our alliance with our own alliances, and since I primarily play on a netbook it's near impossible for me to even get past a single captcha -.- But as many other servers I have been forced to quit, I am sure we will see it on 160, I planned on playing this server until the wheels fell off, but i am very worried the Wheels fell off in week one, I have watched far too many great players be forced to walk away, Patience is a virtue as my great-grandfather always told me, and I definitely feel that I have shown a more than necessary amount of patience thus far...
I pray something is happening for all of our benefit on this downtime we are experiencing.

If I were you guys id stop talking about this our they will do what they did to ss61! They started banning half the server! They wont even reply to a help ticket and are not only banning accounts but also peoples ip's! TELLING US TO START A NEW SERVER!!!! OK SO YES IM UPSET EVONY WONT EVEN ANSWER ANY OF MY 4 HELP TICKETS AND IVE SPENT $$$$ THOUSANDS ON THIS SERVER ONLY FOR THEM TO BASICALLY TELL ME TO F%$K OFF!

Are you serious? No game lag? Over 2000 people can't log or are experiencing lag so badly the server is unplayable. 1 server vs over 2000 people with a problem. Basic troubleshooting rules: which direction do you go to find the problem? If it's not the server, you're saying that over 2000 people around the world on totally different providers are simultaneously experiencing problems on 160 but the same people are having no problems logging other servers and playing. Server 160 in just not playable. Your inablility to provide your customers with a reasonable explaination, reassurance that you are working hard, estimated time for repairs and compensation for the damage you are doing to their accounts is just simply poor business practice. Just tell the people what is going on. And we'll stop losing players who have been dropping all day. But please don't tell us the rediculous excuse that it is our connection. You insult us all. Looking forward to better understanding what the problem is with server 160

i wish ss59 could say this happens more than once a week....we experience lag almost constantly...but we have invested too much time and money and made some great freinds..starting over ona nother server wouldnt be the same...nor as i'm hearing, do any good anyway...i see they've upgraded the hardwear for 160...wish they would have the decency to do the same for ss59....I also wish davemata would come to ss59 and experience it for himself...and i dont just mean for a few minutes...i mean for a few days and see how he likes it
Dave, having been in the IT field for almost 20 years, Blaming paying customers for their issues has only Negative effects on your business model. And you may need to get a decent Network Engineer involved, because from what Ive seen, the issue is routing of the packets, or, WOW, memory issues. And either you know this, and choose to blame the customers, or you dont, for which I would say, how can you expect ppl to continue to pay for a service when you dont even care enough about the business to grow it?

evony i think the service youv provided us on 160 stinks, and id like to know if theres any way off getting my money back as its been totally unplayable since day 1, and you are in breach of providing us a game that we can actually play, Ral.
I suppose that someone that actually knew what they were doing finally looked into this situation and the company seems to be taking corrective actions finally. I admittedly did not submit a help ticket personally, something I should have done. Interestingly though my OP started the AVALANCHE (no pun intended to Ava) that apparently got someone's attention - even though a product manager for the company took time to respond to my OP and tell me it was my internet connection most likely. I do not expect to get a PM apology, or recant-ation - but may very well get an infraction here.
I just want the server fixed and playable as it was. I personally believe Ral's post just prior to this is on the right track to a degree, but the company does have to get a chance to fix stuff before a client can just expect a refund - that money's spent and it aint gonna happen anyway.

Well for 4 hours it was heaven, then at 1300 server time, poof - lag back. At 1500 Poof lag is increased to about 50% of what it was.
How does paypal charge back work and what are the implications to a player that uses this option. I am sure that acct suspension until stuff is worked out is a given, but will Evony actually return the cash I gave them? Never have done this, but seeing that an opportunity to fix it was provided, I am not sure that there are any real options left.
And before some other product manager with a flaming chicken comes on and says it's my internet again - its' pretty clear my posts have been dead on, so go check your stuff before you tell me to check mine. And a 1 city civilian acct dont mean you're playing, step up or step off.
the evony browser game has gone to chit due to poor maint horrible lag and now captcha to screw none coiner botters over. when is evony gonna wake up and realize they will be losing money if they don't remove captcha's and start fixing this issue. i play on 159 as LordKyo and we lag really bad on there. me and davemata got into it on their feedback page and suspended me bcuz of what i was posting up there. i speak my mind and if evony don't start improving their game then people gonna leave and give evony a bad rep.
5:39 p.m. Update: We’re once again seeing stress and very high load on the server. This appears to be the result of some players using unauthorized third party software and gumming up the works for everyone else. We’re going to take the server down briefly to enable Captcha. We expect this to take about an hour...

Captcha solves nothing, which I'm sure evony knows. It does however make it look like they are doing something, which is all they care about.
God forbid they actually try to reduce latency on their end. I have a 50Mbps fiber optic connection, speedtest.net always shows over 50Mbps up and down with very low latency. It was funny enough when they tried to say the problem was on our end. It's even funnier when they don't want to fix it, so they say. "oh, the problem is obviously botters, lets add captcha". Ignoring the fact that bots can solve captcha and it does nothing to eliminate them. Evony, why not actually look at the problem on your end and stop trying to blame everything else. I don't believe you are stupid enough not to realize the problem is in your connection or your equipment, why do you believe we are stupid enough not to realize it?
Oh, and P.S... It's been over an hour. bad enough the lag makes it difficult to play. Constantly taking the server down is making it even worse.
I don't care either way, captcha or not. My only concern is that now, we'll still have the same lag, and will have type in captchas on top of it, lol. :rofl:

the captcha never solved the lag on 153 it was when u introduced new hardware the server be came playable , it a substandard service that evony has provided for far to long . i'm defonatly out this game an this time i do want my money back .

Pretty sure the 200 players in world chat on ss65 are not all running a bad connection. This is getting ridiculous. Cant log in half the time and when you can you cant farm cue or attack. War reports are dead because there is only a few hours a day when people can even manage to get attacks out. Maybe its a marketing scheme? I know lots of people have been forced to holiday? easier to maintain servers if people have to pay to not play?

Instead of complaining and crying in the evony forums which has proven to solve nothing, why don't you guys quit and find some other game in the same genre? It is not like one year ago when such games were rare. There are 10's of games if not 100's similar to evony on the internet today.
PS: I quit 3 months ago. I just read evony forums for entertainment :P
I know this will be closed as soon as it is started(although not sure why). I am truly disappointed. I love this game, I want it to work! The economy of the game is spot on, which is hard to find in games of this type. I have had so much fun figuring out how to attack/defend. From server 98 in the beginning I was hooked.
We as players got used to being ignored; reporting lost troops, hero's that got stuck, farming issues, the list goes on. But we always come back. I was amazed that a game could capture my interest and hold my attention so long. It has been an abusive relationship to say the least. I always chalked it up to the fact it was a war game and nothing is fair in war.
With the impending launch of a new game from Evony one would think when an issue develops that the company would take quick action to keep its base customers on board. I have seen 10's of thousands of dollars spent by these folks and the service has gotten worse, yet they kept coming back.
With the issues of s160 two things are clear, one that Evony will not listen to its core base players(we call that the air we breath in business). They will institute fixes that don't fix anything(hence the captcha that was instituted as a fix and yet the server was pulled less than 12hrs later).
We all know there are work arounds for everything the game throws at us, we as players have been working around the bugs, latency issues, ignored work tickets for years. There is always a solution. We always trudge on. But this latest one about third party software being the cause is pure B.S.
I knew when you celebrated 2 years with the YouTube vid of the Customer Service Rep on the beach and not in an office, that your customers are unimportant to you.
I'm just rambling, but I did take time out to let you know a few of my thoughts. I hope I am wrong and you keep this thread open, I know a lot can be learned if you take the time to breath the air that keeps you alive.
