Bots have been an issue on Age 1 for... well, I don't really recall when they became so commonplace... maybe 18 to 24 months now.
I'll repeat it once again, in case, perhaps, you have early onset dementia and forgot what I've said before: Until roughly 2 months ago, there were no publicly available Age 2 bots which perform all the "magical" functions you claim they do.
Yes, there was a farming bot - but it didn't build troops or comfort. There may have been privately developed bots or scripts people used to do some of those functions -- but they were not widely disseminated, as those of us who regularly play Age 1 have been exposed to. Sometime within the past 2 months they've released a subscription Age 2 bot -- sorry, I don't make it a point to regularly visit bot sites to check out what their latest offerings are, so I may be a week or two off.
You don't need a "bot" for auto-comforting. You can do it with a keyboard/mouse macro program. You can automate any repetitive task, for that matter. Evony could squash such programs by making the comforting pop-up window appear at a random place on the screen. I'm also not really an actionscript programmer, but there may also be some way of building in detection logic using the Flash.ExternalInterface class.
