But . . (and this is in the middle of going on as I type this)
I took the last city of a player who has been inactive for about 4 hours.
Then I took the flat that was left behind.
Then I made a city there.
Then I abandoned it so it became an NPC.
So the question is: When he comes on again will the NPC disappear and his city get returned to the same gamespace it was on? Or do you mean he will get another, random gamespace.
And if he came back while my newly built city was there, (or even one I ported in) will he get his spot back? Because if so, what's the point?
The problem here is that, as you say, this is an assumption
My assumption would be that if the state is locked, an NPC will be transformed
At least one of us is wrong
The only way to know for sure, is to ask the question hoping for an official answer from an Evony Rep.
it randomly appears when you log in and really how many people do you think are legitimately new players they can't code this city can be removed and not this one they have to code for all to be removed if zeroed you dont loose your city u might loose ur rss and heros but you do any ways when attacked and not online it happens your account is still there you rebuild and go on if it happens to you this is actually a good thing dont complain.
What.. this is just what if... the server fills up and there is no spots for the city to be respawned on? do they just take a random npc's spot?
After my initial comments i thought i'd take a little step back and wait for an evony response. After reviewing the response from evony and having a true picture in my head of what they did I am going to take back my original comments and say i was wrong. i believe this to be an inspired change, as long as the parameters for being inactive reflect what cities can be removed its an excellent idea. having players remove inactive accounts is a lot easier for evony. maybe age1 players deserve to be put on the payrol for this.....? :D
Step off bud, I wasn't complaining
I think the idea is fantastic, and something that I suggested along with many others about 2yrs ago. Additionally, since a last-city-capped player can get a city back by relogging, they don't face having to figure out how to raise loyalty with no resources/troops etc.
However, since Thantium is stating that ONLY INACTIVES are able to be capped, I think you have to shut up and let people ask for details, especially since people who were online mere hours prior are being final-capped.
Oh, and since you're being snooty about coding possibilities.... it can be coded on a timeline. Fact is that if they're claiming it's only inactives, they HAVE to be able to code to specifics. You can't tell me that there's no possibility on a new server, for someone to be taken to 1 city and zero'd while they sleep.
