Why are archer so slow? Seriously, pikeman get 300 speed and archers get 250...This is ridiculous hehe...Are archers carrying more armor and weight then pikeman? I dont think so...Leather and bows vs plates and pikes? Yeesh =P

Plenty of plate? All I see is a breast and a helm...Still havent convinced me at all ;)
doesnt say AT it says LIKE
I think the more logical response is that the game wants a combined (or mixed) army to be moving slowing if it includes archers.
The justification being that the archers are the first big advantage in battle, and being able to include them in your army should have some kind of detriment to balance it out.
Anyone ever noticed that melee die first almost always on battle reports? I believe they realistically model the archers as lining up behind melee units.
Yes I have noticed that, and hate that my swordsman die before my warriors ;) But regardless, I dont see how being behind another unit would slow you if that unit if faster than you. Also, perhaps they should make formations, and allow the lowered speed be turned into some kind of tactical setup cooldown upon reaching the attack site...If they are heading to reinforce a city or zone they can run =P
NO joke, take the battle formations idea to the suggestions forum! That would add some great depth to gameplay!
ums do we want archers running to the front of the pack here???
i mean idk, never fought a real war in real life... but on the history channel,
the archers aren't on the front lines... maybe i'm missing something.
the faster a unit is, the sooner it gets with in range of enemy ballistas and archers... are you really saying you wish your archers would hurry up and become a target???
plz think before you game, these developers will make any request a reality, as long as it comes from someone with 0 knowledge of how their battle system works, or how their game is optimally played :D
Why is it you think as soon as we talk about archer speed, you think its about them moving up front? How about them moving away from the advancing enemy?
