Has anyone tested the effectiveness of Catapults in the initial attack? Could 2k Catapults do as much dmg as say 4K ballista's?
Hey, I was just wanting some approximate numbers on the total amount of troops that I should use when attacking lvl 10 npc. I know the numbers for each wave of attack, but wanted to know a total. The reason I ask is because i am training up some troops right now and i do not want to waste a lot, so i am playing it safe.

what lvl arch and other academy things do you have? and what lvl hero do you use?
i got 9 horseback riding 10 archery 10 ironworking 10 compass
10 medicine 10 military trad for tech
i have 10 heroes that i attack with all are 100+ attk and 3 or 4 have 110+ attk
I just did one that was two squares away from my city with 145k Archers and 80k warriors. Make sure your feasting hall is lvl 9 to keep the waves hitting. I had best results with layering the attacks about every minute or so but was doing ok when they were hitting at every 2.5 minutes. I regret sending catapults with the first wave since I had to wait longer for them to return with the 90k archers from the first round.
Seems like every 4-5 minutes 40k warriors would pop up and kill a larger percentage of that wave. On the other waves spaced 1 minute apart I only lost 700 archers and 1.5k archers when spaced 2.5 minutes apart.

I do have a question though, did you have your waves set one right after another or evenly spaced? I'm currently working up the troops to take a lvl 10 thats right next door to my city and I need some tips on how to time my waves.
I've done it both ways and prefer the evenly spaced method so you never get a double respawn in between attacks which can happen more easily the other way.Quote:

I have a level 9 Rally Point, I would be sending 9 waves at a time.
I have a few 100+ attack heroes, but most are 80-90, would those work, or would I have to get them up?
