Sorry, but that forumla doesn't even come close to working:
I looked at my lvl 9 wall with 5,000,000 duraibility and a cavalry having 250 attack produces 20,000 cavalry as a minimum to get through: I don't think so.

I would probably divide the calculation by 99 - 100.
i.e. take in the maximum number of rounds.

Make sure you know what your alliance members are doing; and HOW they are doing it. What I mean is, make sure you aren't part of an alliance that is causing lot's of trouble for other players, this can lead to retaliation on YOU, just for being a member of the same alliance. And when an alliance with a little power decides to take you out ... that's it; you are gone, down to one city, 0 population and 0 resources. And they may even keep you down... Be courteous; just because it is a game of war doesn't mean you have to talk smack to everyone you attack or to those who attack you. They may come back later when they have gotten stronger, and instead of just taking your resources... you know.
And a little tip > If you are in an alliance, proximity is EVERYTHING!! Don't join an alliance where there are no members near you, instead, search the surrounding area and join with some people near you. That way it won't take too long to reinforce your city if attacked. Or ... if you are lucky enough to have an advanced teleportation scroll, then you know what to do.
this method was fixed u dont get pres from it anymore
To conquer NPC 10lvl with nowadays tactics and logic is very easy and can be done without loosing any troops. How? Think about it. But I assure you it can be done.
lvl 8 wall - full. mainly archer towers, with a mix of abatis, traps, rolling logs and rock falls.
why is it that with all the fortification taken out, i'm still unable to scout spam?
i sent in 1 scout but it got killed.. =/
Hi Guys attached is a Excel 2007 spreadsheet that has a couple of calculations.
The first is a calculation on food and time required for units to attack. based on what as far as I can determine is the correct interpretation of the Speed Game Mechanic (Non-Combat) and the Food Mechanic. I did notice that the food Reqs. of units change when you send them to attack. (Yes I did the research lot of dead arcs and pikes etc. lol :) ) and this has been accounted for.
the second calc is the ongoing food cost of X amount of y type of unit.
The third is the purchase cost of units including food, lumber, stone, Iron and population.
Cheers, enjoy it and if there are any errors you can contact me at monk098@live.com.au please do and I will do my best to fix them.
EDIT* this version of the calc is now out of date. The new version handles the effects that the different level techs have on the equation. I have also added a time function to the unit building cost. and No the attached file is not the new version.
