Oh man. Breakfast?!
You guys have never tasted real breakfast. If you guys ever go to TianJin, China, you will realize what breakfast truly is. Once you've had a true breakfast, you'll never want any other.
Oh, and it's the TianJin specialty, you won't get it anywhere else in China.
So what is it?
Well, there's "GuoZi" commonly referred to as "youtiao" in other parts of China, but only the TianJinese ones taste best. And no, I'm not biased, a lot of people all over China who has been to TianJin says so.
there's also "DouFuNao", or "LiaoDouFu", same thing as Guozi, they have it in other parts of china, but no where near as good.
there's also "JianBingGuoZi", which is GuoZi inside a JianBing. again, no where near as good in other places.
There's ShaoBing, Beijing ShaoBing is okay too, but in other places, not so good.
Then there's "GuoBaCai", a specialty of TianJin. it's awesome.
TianJin is famous for it's cuisine. Better than anywhere else in China. And it's breakfast is better than anywhere else in the world
Holy Canoli......evasive much? English would be nice.
I don't think there are english words for them.
1. A long bread thing that's fried.
2. Some sort of Tofu soup, with soysauce and various other favorings, herbs and spices. The soup itself is like a broth/stew thing.
3. LIke a round form of bread.
4. LIke the tofu soup, except instead of tofu you put in this specialty noodle only found in TianJin.
Oh, and don't imagine bread like the bread you eat; it's made of wheat but it tastes completely different.
Yummy... I love french toast. It's with bacon, bananas, maple sauce and french breads.:)
I am a bit old fashioned.
Chicken fried steak, two eggs over easy, sausage gravy, hash-browns, butter milk biscuits with real butter, some fried apples, and a half pint of fresh squeezed orange juice.
or maybe a Denver omelet, with splash of salsa.
If I don't have the time or energy to make that.
:DCoffee!:D

DieF...thank you. :) That's so much clearer of an explanation. Understand, I have lived in eastern Asia for a time growing up, and I learned never ever to ask what I was eating. They'd tell you some flowery name and show you something that smells wonderful and you would ask, "Oh what is that?" and get told it was something absolutely vile and horrid. That's real life, and I still abide by that. Put it on my plate and so long as it isn't actively trying to escape, I'll probably eat it. But here on the internet? I get to ask!!!!
Ya lol :D
TBH I guess they aren't that healthy, and honestly, at the very top gourmet restaurants, they don't serve this "lower" class food, and the people who do sell these type of foods really... well lets just say that they aren't very well educated, and doesn't know much about health issues... so yea, if a westerner went to China, they may get sick because their immune system can't support that...
But it tastes sooooooooooooooooo goood. And Since I have lived in china for 1/2 my life, I'm fine with it being a bit dirty :D I'm not a big health guy.
And just so you know, I normally like western foods, I HATE chinese cuisine. However breakfast is totally different. I mean I like scrambled eggs, bacon sausage and steak, but it really can't compare with a TianJin breakfast.
Hey, the best food is often the dirtiest. The tiny little taco stands (that were just a card table and an overturned rusty metal drum to cook on) were the absolute best ever when I lived in California. And lamb kebabs in the middle east from those little shacks...mmmmmm.
So true, so true. i would like to visit so many different places.
Baaaacon... or anything with a touch chewy meaty feel... maybe a nive steak for breakfast.
breakfast is the best!!! breakfast all day long!! Fruit! Juice! Hotchocolate! *starts to drool on keyboard* TOAST!! Muffans! *runs to the kitchen for more breakfast*
