OP, seige warfare does not exist in Evony.
Can't we get this to the Devs? The only sensible and simple way to end this is putting the 100K troop limit in the trash can. That's what makes the difference: you can have 1 million defending troops, but only 125 K attacking troops (without war ensign only 100K). Please send this to the Devs.

Unlimited attacking troops is NOT the solution. These days anyone can amass 500k-1m troop easily and that means you can take out almost any city at any time.
We do not need to go from one extreme to the other extreme and now back to original extreme!
Just slightly weaken the wall range bonus is the simple solution.

You see, if I can mass a million troops to attack a city, then the defender can as well. Additionally, they have an embassy. Without a rally point cap, they can have 10 other players put all their troops in one of their cities.
With unlimited troop deployment, the defender still has a 10 to 1 advantage, not counting the advantage given by walls.
Right now defenders have insane advantages. Defenders get to move troops around 6 times faster then attackers, thanks to the RS. Defenders get fortifications. Defenders get a range bonus thanks to walls. Defenders get unlimited defending troops thanks to the embassy. Defenders get up to ten allied armies protecting each of their cities. Defenders get hours of warning.
Attackers get no advantages to balance this, and on top of all that they are limited to 100k troops. They are slow, weak, small, and are heavily outgunned.
Simply removing the wall buff/slight nerf fixes nothing. Before the wall buffs, no one bothered to attack the big players. The only thing stopping them from farming much smaller players was unnerfed NPCs.
Remove the wall patch, and people with 500k archers and 50k ballista are still invincible, but newbies are lambs to the slaughter.
So long as the big boys are invincible, newbies suffer because of defender advantages. The key to limiting army sizes and protecting newbies is to take invincibility off the table, and reward players who lose hundreds of thousands of troops in order to gain a victory.
Personally, I think the best fix would be alliance capital wars. Leader of alliance 1 declares war against alliance 2. 24 hours later, regardless of range, there is a huge mega battle. Members of both alliances tithe troops to the battle, and it takes place at the defending alliance leader's capital city. The winner gets a huge reward, and the loser gets a huge penalty.
Perhaps huge amounts of prestige for every player, and maybe some amulets, assuming you attack alliances of similar size and prestige. Something to reward players who sink hundreds of thousands of troops into a battle.
Bam. Army size is capped because people have to use their troops attacking and defending their alliance rather then just massing them. Big players get reason to ignore newbies. Top ten alliances are actually able to compete with each other. The game is more fun.
Everyone wins, and people do not even lose cities, so they do not quit. Losers are able to bounce back.
Well thought out... one point to add also is that even without max wall bonus, even with walls as low as L5, you can run into the dead zone starting out from 5000 if your compass or HB doesn't evenly divide the distance at which your archers / balista will be able to hit the wall.
Also, seems the solution is that archers & seige parked at a city shouldn't get the wall-range defense bonus. You have a cap on the number of ATs / trebuchet that can be built... that should be where the balance is struck between the 100K attacker limit and the ability to push across the dead zone.
Oh, and also it would make a big difference if your hero attack gave a boost to the speed of your forces, at least in a small way, in order to get down the number of "sitting duck" rounds to only 1.
Try even with 90K cavs against lvl10 wall packed with ATs... with tons of archers behind, they get further but wiped out none the less... with 200K archer s lvl10 walls and 17K ATs == near invulnerable to 20 full army attacks
So what you're saying is the defender has the advantage because he's in a castle. Sounds about right. That's the point of a castle.
