I thought the moon was following me.
I thought traffic light were controlled by a underground base.
They're not?! DUDE
Next you're going to tell me Santa doesn't exist!
I actually belived my parents were around with the dinosaurs.
Me too.
I didn't have many misconceptions, none that I can think of off-hand.
But my brother, used to think the urine was flamable.
He also thought that rain was constant. As in, if it starts raining, a rain cloud has moved over, and that cloud would never stop raining.
I believed in pasta trees somewhere in Italy. My dad told me that is where spaghetti came from. He also told me, and i believed it, that there was no speed limit on bridges.
I love the rain cloud thing!
I laughed when I heard it. I mean, aren't older brothers supposed to be the smart ones? He was a grade ahead and learned about precipiation before me. He was like, 15 when he first said it.
I use to think rain was slanted (like when you're drving down the highway)
i thought wind was made by windmills
I used to think all adults were trustworthy. Won't explain
Not really a misconception, but when I was like 5 or 6 I used to always change fractions into decimals because I thought fractions were useless.
I used to think the number a trillion was something my best friend made up to beat me in a bet.
i did that when i was 8
@ dieforelle
Hmmmm...
I used to think:
Rodent was a bad word.
Trees made the wind.
When playind hide and seek the rule "If i can't see them, they can't see me" always applied (for future reference: covering your own eyes does not qualify as a hiding place)
Thunder was clouds talking to each other
hmmm... idk what else lol
Plant a sprig of spaghetti in a jar of tomato sauce and hope for the best.
that there were fairies living near the pond in the garden.
I used to believe that AP Calculus was not a course, but the full name for calculus
I use to think Santa was real. Then I covered my chimney in Rat poison (Anthrax) to get rid of him.. and I couldn't figure out why there were still presents :(
I was told, and believed that if I caught Santa I wouldn't get any presents
You know, being from China, I never even heard of santa, toothfairy etc until I was way too old. I really feel that I was lucky not to have believed in it; I wouldn't want to find out the truth and think my parents were liars.
Up until I was 4 I used to call spiders, trucks.
Rat poison has never contained anthrax.
If it did: Either the humans would have inhaled the anthrax, as it can easily become airborne, and they would have died.
Or, the rodents would have got it, died, and the spores would have sat at the corpse until picked up by another creature.
You sure? I could've swore it did..
Most rat poisons today cause internal bleeding. They are anti-coagulants, and many people take prescription medicine containing the same chemical in order to prevent blood clots.
makes you think
I'm quite positive. This stuff will kill you in days, and it's very easy for it to enter your system. It can survive in extremely harsh environments (like antarctica), it's self-replicating, and it's been known to survive for more then 80 years without a host.
Perhaps you were thinking of arsenic. However this is not something you'd want to come into contact with either, as it too is fairly lethal, though far less then Anthrax.
Yup, googled it. According to http://www.history-magazine.com/arsenic.html
It was arsenic. Thanks, but still same concept applies :)
Well, it was really a logic issue. :D I thought... "anthrax? shouldn't he be dead?"
One misconception I had: All school buses went where I was going.
I beleived snakes actually didn't live in the drainpipe and creek where I played as a kid. It was called Snake Gully!
LOL! I used to think that as well...
Let me think...
I use to think that the toothfairy broke into my house at night, so I called the cops when I was like 6 and said I think there's someone breaking into my house at night.
"Who?"
Me: The toothfairy!
Lol.
when i was a kid i thought you marry people by going around.. and asking will you marry me...
That's a misconception how..
rov.... go up to a hot girl and ask will you marry me............. then ask how it is a misconception
I once thought that I was the only actual person, and that everyone else was just some entity created by my mind to amuse me.
ROFL. I didn't think he meant any RANDOM person. Lol.
And I haven't asked one if they would MARRY me, but I am dating one :D
EDIT: Kinda been out of touch though, it's the summer and she lost her phone.. no contact :(
will anyone marry me?
Sure, when?
