Also, public schools and other places such as the swimming pool CAN impose rules on rights. I've had personal experience.

I'm pretty sure the "revolt" it's causing now is breaking the rules either way

Parliament did not impose this direction on you and nobody has said that he was right about violating copyrights and whatnot. This isn't about him.
