how come I never see the rack adds till someone posts them here.. im being left out
Read the thread in "Game Suggeestion Box", it has some nuanced points of view, a healthy dose of absurdity, and a strong reality check for the advertising team. Not like they visit here, but still...
I did thats where I just shake my head and go this cant be real
I realize it is, but come on
the only add I have ever seen is a little banner saying evony on it, what the hell i was bored. now ive been playing for about a month i guess and have yet to see these adds out in the great beyond of the intraweb
I found Evony through the banner on Xfire. Damn I have no life, I actually clicked on it.
Something more desent, have you ever herd of travian, or tribal wars, they
advertise without using false messages. Maybe something more like that
man these ads are EVERYwhere now
well there is a post from reps about it over in
http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=31512&page=22
obviously I dont hang out in how do they call it "websites for mature adults" often enough
stupid immaturity
how about something that has something to actually do with the game?
i don't see how a set of breasts and a woman who appears to be ready and waiting with "play in secret" as the sub for this, has anything to do with... well.. anything besides sex.
as to the above linked thread.
the funny thing i find there is they locked a thread containing images used to ADVERTISE the game for THESE forums.. isn't that a little hypocritical there?
they used and advertised with said images, yet they ban their own work?
thats just crude in any corner of the web, ban your own stuff from your website, but continue to advertise using the offending images that were banned from the site it links to..
so in doing so they've by right banned the posting of screenshots from their own websites sign up and main pages.. i don't really get it so...
yeeah :p
fun read.
but tbh that kinda puts me off from even touching the game now..
Edit: and as for placement via "maturity of the website"
should a game of this sort be advertised on "mature" websites?
as well as i don't think a site like Deviant Art is "mature" seeing as many a kid strolls among its many pages of fan art and now sexy half nude ads for this game
Quote by Swansea (Evony Representative):
What they have yet to divulge is what, exactly, is their target audience?Quote:
The adverts thus far have worked well to reach its target audience...
Fourteen year old boys who just had their first wet dream, or just found dad's stash of Busty Beauties under the mattress or out in the garage?
Twenty-something no-life males who spend most of their day sitting in "meet n' greet" chatrooms looking for a random female to cyber with?
Middle-aged, hormonally overcharged and underserviced wannabe studmuffins who click on anything that shows a female with at least 1/3 of her body unclothed?
Over-the-hill and chronically lonely perverts who sit in front of their computers viewing websites like Lolitas4U or PreTeenQueens, hoping for a glimpse of supple, young flesh?
Either way, the bottom line is that the target audience is clearly male. Being a female gamer for over two decades, I don't necessarily take offense to this type of advertising campaign because ~ in reality ~ it does work to make people click, sign up, and play. The part that I find disagreeable about the advertisements is that they are misleading with regard to the text. Save your queen? Rescue a damsel in distress? At what point in the game does this happen? (Answer ~ Never!) So, eye-candy aside, they attempt to draw people in with blatant lies about the game content.
Apparently, all of the above, plus you, and me. :D
I did the first click on a website for politics. It was a "save the queen" (without the cleavage), and since I liked "Save the cheerleader, save the world!" I figured I'd try it.
When I first saw the buxom blonde, I was like, "Oh, great; more cheesecake." But, upon third glance, I thought, "Does any woman have breasts like that?" I mean, it appears they were altered to create an unnatural gap.
Don't be mad at the princess, though. She's not bad; she's just drawn that way. :)
