attack vs def values.
Ok so out of curiosity I decided to run some tests to see how attack and defese value work. So here is was I did.
- as a base I took a unit of 100 troop and checked how archers/ballista/catapults it would take to kill them in one shot.
-In training ground no tech or hero modifiers apply (I check on another server)
Here's what I found.
100 Cataphracts
- 2359 Archer, 39.4 dmg/archer, 32.8% of archers attack value as damage.
- 677 Ballistas , 147.7 dmg, 32.8 %
- 508 Catapults, 196.9, 32.8%
100 Swordmen
- 770 archers, 45.5, 37.9%
- 206 Ballista, 169.9, 37.8%
- 155 Catapults, 225.8, 37.7%
100 Warriors
- 348 archers, 57.5, 47.9%
- 93 Ballista, 215.1, 47.8%
- 70 Catapults, 285.7, 47.6%
At this point I saw a definite pattern. so i check a few more things
100 Worker
-174 archers , 57.47, 47.9%
-35 Catapults, 285.9, 47.7%
Worker at their 10 defense give the same value as warriors at their 50 defense.
100 batter rams
- 9822 archers, 50.9, 42.4%
100 Pikemen
- 583 archers, 51.46, 42.9%
So what did all this mean? Well here what i can up with while running tests with millions of troops in order to refine the number with rounding and such.
Def of 50 or below - 47.5%
Def 150 -42.5%
def 250 -37.5%
def 350 -32.5%
100 def = 5% reduction of a units base damage
1 def point = .05% of a units base damage.

That's some very interesting stuff there.. thanks for the work man.

Dear gryfyn1
Outstanding. This is easily far and away the most intelligent thing I've found in the forums on battle mechanics. I can't believe there only two follow up postings. I would think the whole Evony Community would be at your door. You're a genius. You deserve a full scholarship and research grant. Can't find doctoral students with this much insight. Fantastic Work. Please let me know if your research makes any futher discoveries. This is revolutionary. They're going to be nominating you for a Nobel.
Thanks 'Muchly'
