That was solved.

And, the answer I had, though somewhat "fantastic", as in, "magical", is, a feather. You put a feather in the barrel to make it lighter.

A hole, disturbs the barrelness of it being a barrel. I mean, if you put holes in a barrel, is it any longer a barrel, a large round wooden cylinder made for holding various things? No. Its a large round wooden cylinder filled with holes.
