This is mainly to you Hods...I read your guide Removed link and it seemed like it would work. Well i tried and tried and i got nothing but i didnt give up. Well recently you posted *NOTE* It appears that this only works for the earlier servers. It does not work for the servers and worlds whose drop rates have been lowered. So what does work? I have done so many techniques its not even funny I have not seen a single rose medal drop from any valley ranging from 1-5. Thanks
Sir i agree with you completely, what Evony doesn't understand is that this is just hurting themselves, new paying players (noobs) will get obliterated by the time 7 days hits, this is only because this is the only way for more advanced players to support their armies without expanding to a third base. Seems like evony will lose alot of paying customers if they dont fix this soon... and as far as the Buying Medals according to evony it could take up 30 dollars just to get 10 rose medals, sorry but i think i speak for everyone where im not going to spend 30 dollars to get a 3rd city on a browser game. In the mean time i recommend everyone to do their part and message evony via email, mods on this forums(pm), and bug reports in the mail button in game, if they see that enough of us are willing to leave this game, they will make changes to the medal drop rate like they did in the past, a few months ago... yup, another good game ruined. I spent 3 weeks on this game, I have seen 1 rose medal following various methods to gain them in order to advance in tis game. I started cdounting the other day to see how rare it was to get these medals. over 1000 battles and still no rose medals. I don't have the money to spend on this game and it seems that the only way to get anywhere is to pay, there is no point in spending anymore time on here. The Moderators are only going to delete these threads that have any negative comments about the game or point out the flaws in it. They don't want to hear our complaints and they don't want others to hear our complaints because they want to hide the fact that they are only trying to suck money out of people. Thanks for helping me waste the last three weeks. I was going to put some money into this game, but seeing how they are fixing it so that we HAVE to pay, forget it, yous lost a costumer.
it was fairly obvious when you start playing the game that all evony cares about is money, its fairly common but still its annoying as hell cause there game is just like a shell, they put bannars for it all over the place, talk some bull **** bout saving a princess or somthing just to find a BBMMOG thats exactly the same as the dozons i could list off, and acctuallyl its worse cause you need to get these annoying as hell medals just to get a new city.
shame on you evony for taking no pride in your game, you want money thats alright then earn it don't force players into spending 30$ to get a 3rd city you *******s.
EA games loves money but they earn it, you guys just trick/force people into giving you money for somthign they discover sucks
i give u trick to hunt medals..
i use 3-5 heroes for hunt cross,rose and lion medals on lvl 1,2 and 3 valley ( easy to defeat ), and i got about 10-15 medals each in one day ( about 6-7 hours ), and one point u must concern is about the distance valley from ur city ( try to get the nearest ).
and i only use 50 archer for lvl 1, 75-100 archer for lvl 2 and 125-150 for lvl 3 and ur have no losses.

I really think people are discouraged by the fact that you either have to invite 800 friends... or buy 30 USD worth of coins... or hope to randomly get a junk box, which is probably less likely that being struck by lightning while sitting inside your apartment.
I can't imagine why they don't reward their fans and players more. We'll still spend money and send invites, just don't discourage us like this. Please send friendly emails to staff if you are having problems getting promoted, as many obviously are.
it seems to take alot longer then is should. i just made about 12 sweeps of a L3 flat and got 4 medals. 2 rose, 1 cross, 1 lion. It took about 1 hour. And 75 attempts. I sent 5 waves of archers to the flat right next to my town and abandoned them as soon as i captured and just kept making these sweeps. But it does take forever. I have low patience for this since the older servers drop medals about 2 to 3 times as fast.
ok now wats going on is that the hods medal system works best on older servers but does work on newer ones too(newer ones are like the server w1), and if you have lvl 9-10 of archery, attack, etc. then you might be sending to many troops. so stop whining. :P
and have you ever tried attacking flats and lakes for rose medals?
I am on a newer server (26) and was able to get all of the needed rose medals by using the conquer abandon method on lvl 2 flats and lakes. Granted I was only getting I rose medal per 80 conquers or so, but I did get them. The most attacks in a row I went without getting one was 143. But if you are hitting a valley right next to with a decent rally point and feasting hall you should be able to get off 100 attack/hr which should yield 1 rose normally. Anybody claiming 1000 attacks without a medal is
a) lying
b) not attacking fully regenerated valley (they fully regenerate upon abandoning which one reason i prefer this method) or
c) such a statistical abnormality there should only be one of you per server.
PS I haven't spend a dime on this game, but have put in some time on summer break

Valleys take an hour or so to fully regenerate -they don't do it right after you attack. NPC cities take longer, depending on their level. There's no way you can hit one fully regenerated valley as often as you claim on a daily basis; you can only make 22-23 effective medal attacks each day on any particular valley.Quote:

The medal system is designed to keep non-dedicated players from making too many cities before they go inactive.
It's very hard for Evony to monitor the removal of newbie inactive cities if every newbie gets 5 or more cities. It would also mess up the virtual economy at the market when everyone just invades newbie cities for resources due to the abundance.
I got to agree with you Baltezar. Tho it's really frustrating when you get like 1 rose out of 100 attacks. I guess... having a low drop rate on medals in newer servers got some good sides too.
evony would have more players if it was better to get medals.
it just takes so long that it makes the game alot less funnier because if you dont spend hours looking for the medals you just stop yourself from progressing.

it is harder to get medals on newer servers because if you could get medals every valley attack that means all the active evony members would be prinzessins strait away but there is 1 thing i dont get world23 is very new and there is already loads of furstins and already 1 prinzesin and i know the person doesent pay and i dont know how he got the medals
In games like WoW you actually felt like you were getting somewhere, as the XP slowly built up. but on here when you get nothing in 300 attacks it just feels like your basically wasting your time for no reason...Quote:

As you stated a little bit before your quote, you are the type of person who wouldn't spend a bunch of money on evony - i wouldn't either, even if i had a credit card - so why would they care if you leave? you arent paying them anyways :) i doubt they would notice if i left... but what with the BULL**** DROP RATES where i can grind for days with little to no results - and half the time the results aren't what im looking for - i probably will. yeah, this game was fun for the entire month that i didnt understand really how to play. but once i played a few more servers and got the hang of it, there were some very obvious and massive flaws. i'm only on my 7th week playing now and evony is really starting to stink. well.. if they dont fix some of this stuff, looks like CoD4 here i come... although it would almost be more appropriate for me to say "CoD4:2" now since MW2 is coming out in a few months.Quote:

Think about the mechanics of the Quests, you would only have a low lv hero when you start to conquer valleys

I'm on 33 and while the drop rates are not as high as the lower servers I'm still getting 1-3 medals a day. Roses and crosses mostly in 1-3 levels, lions in lvl 4-6 grasslands..LOTS of attacks to do it but I send out 6 attacks at a time and usually have a medal within 4-5 sets of attacks. Sometimes I conquer sometimes not, it doesn't seem to change the drop rate
Just finding out more and more how close to useless it is to hope for getting enough rose medals to build again. I am on server 29, and am constantly attacking, drop rates are nil!!. What a waste! I did read in another thread that someone linked to some obscure, not so reputable blogs that referred to a lawsuit that Microsoft has against the Lams for a "Click Fraud" scheme, and that was the reason for making changes in drop rates, etc., that will bring in income for legal defense. Well....HOW ABOUT a reputable source, like the oldest newspaper in the Lams current hometown area, Vancouver? Yeah, I would definately not spend a dime of my hard earned $$ to help someone stupid enough to do something that took money out of Microsofts pocket!! MS DOES have the money to come after you and keep after you until you are in rags and drinking out of a Wild Irish Rose bottle in a gutter! Their needing legal funding is definately why I am suddenly surrounded by nothing but NPC's!! I really hope that if I have not given up 6 months from now that I will have come across 5 rose medals by luck in amulet spins, because they ain't happening with attacks on server 29!!!
As a follow up, after a few months of constant attacks on anything that is 1-3 valley, mostly hills and swamps, I gained 1 Lion Medal!! Some will say 1 is better than none, if it had been a rose medal, I might slide over toward that side without total agreement, but after a few months and thousands of deaths and attacks to get 1 medal that won't help me do DI*"K? What a waste! By the way, I used 150 archers on a level 2 hill with a Lvl 20 hero with attack of 35, intelligence 42.
Look at the medals.
In terms of loyalty points they produce, its 5 for the cheapie medal, 10 for rose, and 15 for lion.
So, maybe, the drop rate for rose is higher in 2-3 level valleys and NPCs than a L1 valley. It would stand to reason, but then again, we cant put any bone headedness, asinine, and counter intuitive types of coding past evony.

I've tried every half brained theory that has been written about plussome that obvioulsy work elsewhere . Hell on server 1 you only sneeze as you pass a lv1 npc for one to fall .
We've said it all along that as the game got more popular they would make sure you paid somewhere and medals is the obvious way of doing it .
the game is getting more worthless all the time no point in playing if you cant get any medals or have spend real money for them bad enough you have to spend any for Cents
Rose medals, in valleys: Simple.
As stated above you need, for best results: patience, lvl 9 or 10 feasting hall, 9 or 10 heroes, lvl 9 or 10 rally spot, a spot open to take a valley and about 1,000 archers. Edit: I hit lvl 3 lakes for best results, 100 archers per wave.
Strategy: Sent as many waves as possible, to the same valley and spread them around 10 seconds apart. Take the valley with the first wave. Abandon. Repeat.
For valleys, the truth is this: By conquering and taking the valley as your own, then abandoning it, it fully regenerates all defending armies.
If this valley is 1 mile from you, you can attack 10 times (lvl 10 buildings) in 2m 06s. 10s spread puts 10 attacks all hit at 3m 16s. Depending on your speed, you can get 80-120 attacks per hour.
It works, so do it and don't spend so much whine time here! :)
Listen, all of you from older servers. Your old school method does not work on newer servers (namely 60+). Or at least say which server have u had success. Not all servers are created equal.
If you think that hitting a valley hundreds of times just to get a few medals are hard, why dont you open an account on the new server? You will cry (either way, farming or when you finally get one -rose) hunting for medals.
There are 0 medals, ZERO medals in valleys except lv 8-10 and medal types appear in random.
