Favorite Fragrances

I'd like a few opinions from both genders.

For the guys: What's your favorite scent on a female ?

& for the ladies: What's your favorite scent on a male ?

So you're welcomed to state your opinion on your fave fragrance on the opposite sex (maybe even for the same gender, whichever way you swing ;) )

I personally love Unforgivable by Sean John, maybe because of my ex? Haha, I don't know. But I love it.

I've also heard that guys love fruity smells on girls, and VANILLA scent. Is this true for some of you ?

Hmm. On my ladies, I prefer vanilla or coconut. Fruity fragrances are a-go too. I find my ladies like anything that smells like expensive cologne.

Fruity smells don't turn my crank. Neither does vanilla.

In fact, I prefer a woman not to wear perfumes, or other such crap. Artificial smell makes it seem like you've got an unpleasant smell to hide.

Ditto. 99% of the commercial stuff smells like crap anyways.

Um.. I don't know what I like on guys, but I love the smell of one particular bottle from CK. :P

For my personal smell, I use roll on deodorant. I don't even know what brand it is.

I can't say I agree though. If it's too much, it does kill lol.. & then we have those Dollar Tree type perfumes. Yuck.

I really dont like perfume on a girl. I prefer the smell of that vanilla/coconut scented shampoo.

Shampoo is one thing. Perfume is another.

I also have severe allergic reactions to certain perfume compounds, resulting in a debilitating migraine.

I'ma have to agree with you on that. Not that I sniff a girl or anything, it's just that some of them girls really put on a tonz and the strong smell just chokes me.

I don't wear any perfume, only dab on a little coconut body spray and ready to go. :D

EDIT: Miza - I don't use perfumes. :P

I have a heightened olfactory sensory system. I don't know why.
But, it makes all perfume stifle my senses. It's cloying, I believe is the word.
It's something like if I were to take wads of paper, dip it in perfume, and shove it up my nose.

I just think it's weird, I'm used to people around me always wearing some type of scent.

Lol. Girls reapply perfumes in locker rooms. :P

I was granted a privilege of not having to enter the locker room because I get migraines whenever I smell strong perfumes, especially all kinds mixed together. >.<

I don't like perfumes or hairspray or whatever other things... but then they all tend to smell very chemical to me and give me headaches more often than not.

I do like smells like mango and coconut and things like that that you get in some shampoos though

Coconut shampoos, body wash, etc. are the best. :P I practically squirt the shampoo in my palms and smell it until I can't smell anymore! :p

I see. One of my friends is the same way.. she doesn't like most perfumes & gets mad when her sister & I get together & try on perfumes lol.

Edit: I have one of those vanilla body gels, smells really good & leaves skin super soft :)

Lol well when i was younger they also had the tendency to make my throat close up so that also tends to make me a bit bias against them I guess

& hecky no. I ain't payin 600 bucks for some perfume.

Vanilla is always a good scent to smell on a woman.

I guess I better start sprayin' that bottle of vanilla lol.

You really dont want to know what it is made of though...

You can get plain ambergis in non perfume form really cheap for like $5 but the perfume is expensive...
and it smells the same ... even in its solid state...

Preferably no perfumes, as they make me sneeze.

Also as little as possible make-up... Want to look at the girl, not at the painting.

I never really understood make up.

I mean you spend who knows how long trying to find the right shades and stuff and put it all on just to go out in the world and say "alright everyone, this is what I don't look like!" And then you come home later and spend just as long trying to make sure you get it all off so it doesn't get everywhere while you're asleep, where you are presumably recuperating from the whole ordeal. :s

I mean it's good for special occasions I guess... and clowns... but other than that I don't see much point in wearing anything more than maybe a bit of lipstick or something... If a guy doesn't find you attractive enough without the make up then why would you want to be with that guy in the first place? :s

But that's just my opinion lol, and I know most girls don't agree with that so... :p

I heard that chicks like pumpkin fragrances.

there's one by Molton Brown (I think) that smells a teeny bit like baby bath, that on a man, sheesh ....

cucumber melon is a good smell on a woman

I too am like all the others who had posted that the cannot usally stand perfume because the olfactory senses are heightened, and to me even a small amount is huge. So typically no perfume works best on women, or something VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, light. But no specific smell.

I don't really care about perfume, I hate some stuff because it smells like vinegar. I don't wear anything myself apart from my deo. Fruity smells ok though

Oh, ambergris isn't perfume, although it is a major ingredient in most perfumes. It comes from half-digested giant squid beaks in the intestines of sperm whales, which are then crapped out and float to land.

This is why I don't like perfume. They're made of SQUID BEAKS AND CRAP.

There was a study a few years ago to see what scent most attracts men and women.

Most men are aroused by vanilla and for women the scent was cinnamon.

I've never been a fan of perfume on women.

Good smelling hair from shampoo though, mmmmm.
