Perhaps you misunderstand. I totally WILL use the tactic myself, if I ever get attacked. That doesn't change the fact that it's weak as hell, and an abuse of game mechanics in spirit, if not in letter.
It also hasn't interrupted my farm in the least. Finding other targets isn't hard, and I don't really NEED to send tens of thousands of troops on a farm attack. A couple thousand archers, a placeholder or to to abuse the combat system, some transporters, and I'm good to go. Doesn't impact my original point in the least.
Original point is; this is quite obviously a flawed mechanic, that should be addressed. Check out this page Sukasai;

It's a neat page that describes logical fallacies. You're doing the one I linked right here. Changing the topic of discussion (from a mechanic made of fail to my use/disuse of it, or other options on which I could spend my time) hardly counts as an argument against the claim.
Do you have any thoughts on the actual point I'm making?
To the guy who seems to be insinuating that I'm attacking people weaker than I with an overwhelming army, well, yes, yes I am. Isn't that the point? Isn't that how you do it? You don't create your armies using the 1-man placeholder system to minimize your casualties? You don't want to loot people with millions of resources and no defense? Then you're doing it wrong.
Defenses against this are already in the game. You can teleport. You can join an alliance (I'm strong as an individual, sure, but 10x people can still take almost anyone out if they aren't completely useless). You can politely ask me to stop. Believe it or not, I usually will. There's plenty of inactives around, and I'm not out to play as a griefer specifically looking to poop on peoples' parades. I'm playing as someone who wants your stuff, and theres plenty of inactives or other targets. If you're halfway competant, you'll have enough traps and regularly spend resources, and render yourself an unattractive target to me.
I also like the fact that you can move resources and troops away, it makes sense. However, it needs to be LIMITED in scope and effectiveness. Dodge my army once or twice? Fine, smart play by you, you are rewarded by getting to keep your stuff that time. It shouldn't be MONUMENTALLY easy to dodge my army over, and over, and over. A day or two to buy yourself time to make some troops or defenses? Fine, sure. Dodging everything that comes at you in a week with no effort? Not so much. I'm going to propose a blockade mechanic in the Great Minds forum later today, would appreciate comments and constructive criticism on there.
Guess this can be closed, and thanks to the one poster who seems to understand what I'm getting at.
Cheers
