During my Freshman/First Year at college, I acquired the nickname "the old man/the old scholar" by my fellow students. I spent my free time reading graduate level books from Yale University that I had ordered from Barnes and Noble which was utilized as a graduate level course book in the Philosophy Department in the 1950's. An example of a graduate level book that I read would be Friedrich Schiller's "On the Aesthetic Education of Man" that was utilized as a textual reference to a Philosophy course. In one situation, around March of this year, I went to my college and found out through conversation with the security guards that all undergraduate college courses were cancelled for the particular day. My response: I went to the College Library and read for 5 hours until I became tired and returned home.
In another situation, I was invited by some undergraduate college students who I became familiar with to attend a party for the weekend. I being an introvert and an individual who finds comfort from study and contemplation declined the invitation.
Another example was when I was 15/16 years old, I spent approximately ten hours in the local Barnes and Noble Bookstore; I entered the bookstore at 9:30 AM and left the bookstore at 7:30-8:00 PM. In such a span of time, I read Julius Caesar's commentaries on the Gallic War and the Roman Civil War as well as a quick look at a book detailing classical architecture. In addition, for a means of nourishment, I bought some snacks and a chocolate drink in the adjoining Barnes and Noble cafe store. In essence, I devoured the Godiva Chocolate and chocolate drink voraciously and continued with my historical reading.
In essence, I have not experienced such a situation as the female friends that I do have are passionate on advancing/furthering their knowledge. I have had girls during my high school years ask me to [date them. I am not familiar with such terminology, please elaborate.], however, due to philosophical grounds I declined.
