Paid Servers
The current game mechanics can be very frustrating. The free part is a joke. Just like when WoW says it's free but you can only get to level 20.
It really makes the game stupid when people's progress is based on their wallet size... It really diminishes the sense of achievement, it it must feel pretty boring to advance just by spending money.
Why not instead just charge a monthly subscription on some servers, but put everyone on a level playing field. Maybe make medals easier to farm too wouldn't hurt. I would gladly pay $10 a month to play this game in a way that mattered... but I'm certainly not throwing my money away when all I do is spam noobs and take their loot... what's the point.
And I have 200k with 2 cities. Nobody is breaking through my defenses (well almost.) All I do is login, scout the area around me, send an attack, win more mats, have nothing to do... log out. How pointless is that.
If I spent $50 to get them medals, I would be exactly where I am now with a 3rd city. If I farmed for them (at about a 0.1% drop rate on server 23) I would give up an entire weekend just to get a 3rd city... again what's the fun... and for what?
But if I could just play on a server that the developers designed for the fun aspects of the game and not classic conditioning system designed to make kind folk to whip out their ccs, maybe this game would be more fun.
