Exactly. This one is short, sweet, and too the point.
Its better to keep your mouth shut than to show your stupidity.
Theres a quote that relates to it, let me see if I can find that one.

Ok, when I looked for the quote I was looking for I found two.
“It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than open one's mouth and remove all doubt.”
~ Samuel Johnson.
“It's better to stay silent and look a fool, rather than speak and remove all doubt.”
~ Mark Twain
They both are the same quote, the lower one is just shorter.
Wait, so Mark Twain stole Samuel Johnson's quote?
There's another one by Twain i believe something along the lines of
"when you argue with a fool soon the world will forget who is who"
I'm not sure you would call it "stolen" as you can't "claim" a quote after it has been altered.
It becomes an indirect quote but he could've stolen the meaning
I can't believe Milo actually contributed to a thread =O
I took a screenie because I want to savour the moment.
On topic, I think a great quote about foolishness is one by Abraham Lincoln
“You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time.”
Someone out there will always catch onto your tricks
be humble you can't always be the smartest you must be ready to accept second best
i think we have coverd this one from all angles.....
Abe Lincoln imo greatest president of all time or tied with george washington
back on topic : the quote symbolizes to me that after a while everyone will catch onto your tricks and well you'll be stuck inbetween a rock and a hard place
Ok, new quote (Keep in mind these are just cuz we're all bored anyway, and aren't part of the 'daily' quotes)
“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.”
Who is that?
You're your greatest opponent once you understand yourself nothing will stand in your way
I am uncertain who said that, BOb.
you can only control and understand the world around you once you can control yourself and knows what drives you
you should always know yourself before you try to know others because if you don't know who YOU are how can you understand someone else?
ah but others are easer to see objectively then the self is. to Know ones self one must be able to look objectively at ones actions and motives. much easer to judge then to be judged. (poor wording but i couldnt think how else to get the gist of my meaning out)
ack i dont know any good quotes sooooo
NEW TOPIC
If the before the bigbang the universe was compressed into one point

2)how did it get to that 1 piont

This one is Dumb
(Sunday August 16, 2009) “Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.”
~ James Dean
No, rose, it means live every day as if it could be your last. Make the most out of each and every day, because tomorrow is never promised to anybody.
*sigh* we've already done those..........
ok contribute to the current conversation or get out
Yes, I know, but rose needed an explanation
Ohh. I see.. for some reason that just came to my mind differently. Thanks, Rov.
I think some of you have missed the point of the quote from James Dean.
Dream as if you'll live forever, in other words plan for the future, what would you like to do, where would you like to be, tomorrow.
Live as if you'll die today, live everyday to the fullest. Don't waste time on what ifs, seize the moment.
No problem, and thanks for sharing your view on it. Thats what this thread is for :)
Ok, moving on.
"You don't marry someone you can live with - you marry the person who you cannot live without."
