What? If "The Crusades" are a country.... I figure anything's fair game, right?
Germanic Tribes
Ive voted for eypgt.
I can guess this poll has something to do with future patches :=) Based upon what we the community want.
Rome and England
When they say Crusades they probably mean Outremers. In any event, you can guess what I voted for!
By the by, Rome didn't exist, unless you count The Byzantine Empire, in the middle ages, in fact the start of the Middle Ages was marked by the fall of Rome. As such, Germanic Tribes are pushing it a little too.
The Holy Roman Empire was actually German, and was the 1st Reich.
Medieval China is probably the one that I think is most interesting. For reference, have a look at Jet Li's 'Hero'
I wonder if the poster realizes that untill 1492 the Kingdom of Spain did not exsist
"Islamic Countries" is vague, and a more correct term would be "Muslim Countries". What about the Almohads, Emirate of Granada, The Moors, Al-Djazair, Tunis, Seljuk Sultanate and the Kwarezmian Empire? Also, I always though Poland held a significance through it's union with Lithuania, it's Winged Hussars and it's ties with Bohemia, Hungary and Saxony.
I was also always interested in Poland-Lithuania, too bad it got eaten up by its neighbors, I guess that was the thanks they got for helping to save Europe from the Turks in 1683. And you can't say enough about the winged hussars, probably the best heavy cavalry Europe ever produced.

Byzantine Empire!
I love me some Ottoman-Turks!
The Portuguese were well known in the Middle-Ages, I want them up there. They split the world in half with Spain to explore and they basically ruled the seas...
I really have to agree with this. It's just Poland-Lithuania got too big, and the European nations around it lost a common enemy; The Ottoman Empire was no longer very aggressive. So they turned on Poland-Lithuania.
I feel as my favorites are:
The Byzantine Empire: Knowledge, Advances, same cause of death as old Roman Empire (corruption, civil war, barbarians).
Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth: Very interesting country, very powerful country. Great Cavalry. Remember Prussia in WWI? It was formerly a Teutonic Knight stronghold turned vassal of Poland after a religion switch to Lutheran.
the mongols in my opinion were the best during medieval time because not only did they destroy the European knights at their prime, but they also establish the largest empire ever until the British Empire.
i suppose that we are talking about architecture. medieval turkey
The Byzantine Empire was not destroyed by Barbarians. In fact, when Mehmed II laid siege to Constantinople he used some "western" technology in the form of Urban's artillery. Until this poll is updated I don't think i'll vote.
By the way, is the pre-WWII Polish flag based on the Winged Hussars or were the hussars based on the polish flag?
Rome for sure.
Rome, by definition, is not a middle ages country
Voted Egypt
I will vote for the Islamic nations or "Darul Islam" which was obviously the most advanced region and absolutely dominated both militarily and scientifically throughout the Middle Ages. Both the Byzantine Empire and Spain were Islamic in the Middle Ages....this Poll is inaccurate.
I have to agree with the above post. Any basic perusal of world history will show that Byzantium was Greek, and Orthodox.
My favorite Middle Ages empire was the Aksumite Empire of Ethiopia. Also know as the Kingdom of Axum, this empire was an important trading link between Europe and the far east. Purported to be the home of the Queen of Sheba, and the first major empire to convert to Christianity; Axum will always have an important place in history.
Today the people of Ethiopia are proud of their glorious heritage.
I voted for Spain. I love that country a-lot. I love spanish.
i voted for the HRE. and i voted early on so i know that it said HRE not Rome. The HRE WAS in the middle ages though it was more of a union than a kingdom. It did technically have a centralized leader, the Holy Roman Emperor. The first was Otto I in 962 AD.Since the middle ages are commonly dated from circa 400-476 A.D. (the fall of rome) to circa 1453–1517 A.D. (the Fall of Constantinople to the Protestant Reformation begun with Martin Luther's Ninety-Five Theses), the HRE was a middle age "kingdom".
Information quoted from :
The HRE
Middle Ages
I'd have to go with Feudal Japan too. But I know more about England.
The Crusades.
Byzantine Empire, of course. :p
Russia here =)
The answers do seem strange. "Crusader States" would be better, unless you want to refer to each individual one which would take an eternity since there were so many.
I vote china. They had some great things going and they blew it to shreds.:D
Byzantine Empire :D
Atlantis, Lumeria and a free China
yes, I know they are all fictional, but that's what makes them fun
Sorry that was a typo, I meant to say significant portions fell under Muslim control during the Byzantine - Arab Wars which eventually lead to the full take over of Constantinople in the 15 century before the end of what was considered the "Middle Ages"...
i'm Egyptian , but in middle Ages , Egypt was An Islamic country (was almost leader of them)
The Egyptian civilization was b4 4k years not in middle ages
