Swine Flu

I'm pretty sure that there have been about 200 cases proven to be swine flu. 15 deaths. That's sad, sure, but more people die in car crashes in 3 hours, just in the U.S. I don't see the WHO declaring a pandemic of people driving cars, do you?

I believe the death toll stands at 17 confirmed deaths (with 101 suspected in Mexico) as of right now. 16 in mexico and then the little mexican baby in the U.S.

Um, no. Actually, there is no link between handling or eating pigs and contraction of the "swine flu". It is a person-to-person transmissible virus that attacks people of all ages and immunity levels. Young, old, healthy or sick. In fact, the WHO is considering renaming it something less alarming than "swine flu," since governments like Egypt have taken to slaughtering 300,000+ pigs even though there hasn't been a single case in that country.

If the pig, or any other "animal", has the infectious disease, and you eat that animal...YOU WILL GET THE DISEASE. Like if i had Swine Flu, and you ate me..YOU WOULD GET SWINE FLU. Kthxbai.

A pandemic is a sickness that spreads rapidly over a large area, and unless driving a car magically becomes an illness of some sort..No they won't.

No Darwinism has to do with one of the early great scientists as well as the founder in the beleif in Evolution. Check this out for a clearer understanding. More or less though its a beleif where if you are strong you live and if you are weak you die. The weaker and less healthy people die off, the stronger organisms live on, and reproduce to create other stronger organisms.

Soooooo, this is the CDC's take on whether or not you can catch "swine flu" from eating pork:

"Can people catch swine flu from eating pork?
No. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. You can not get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products is safe. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 160?F kills the swine flu virus as it does other bacteria and viruses."

So unless someone already has a death wish and is eating raw, infected pork...we're alright. :)

The meant will not be infected even still. The virus does not live in the muscle or fat tissue that you eat. Of corse you should cook the pork to that tempture in any case but if you dont you still wont get the swine flu from from that meat. (you may get it from someone who coughs on it while serving it, but you can get it from any food that way)

Go ahead and eat raw pork, you won't get swine flu from eating it. You may get any other of numerous diseases from the raw pork, but not swine flu.

Granted all that is an entirely moot point seeing how the "swine flu" that we are seeing isn't even a flu strain that infects swine .. go figure.
