WN1 Fiasco – Right To Reply & To Be Answered
I have played evony since week one of server one. In that time I have experienced many of the devs ‘modifications’ and almost all of them have been executed with little or no warning.
Despite the extreme lag, hours and hours of downtime, drastic and unwanted (by 99% of players) nerfs such as the npc and wall boost nerfs, over production of servers (leading to under populated servers) two things have always remained constants:
1) The devs will do as they see fit with little understanding of what their gamers want and with universally poor communication both before any changes are implemented and after said changes have gone wrong. That said execution of such changes is botched every single time has now become the normal state of operation for evony.
2) No matter how badly all of the evony gamers have been treated in the past they always seem to come back for more.
HOWEVER
The merger of W1-W5, the preparation for it and the sheer unprofessionalism of both the devs communication and implementation has set new standards not just for evony but also for online gaming in general.
A merger never asked for by the gamers, unwanted when the extremely short notice was announced, totally botched now its gone live (for some) and the exceptionally poor communication (OR ABSENSE THEREOF) being delivered by the devs to give some comfort to all those who have lost their accounts (like myself and many of my friends) or who have accounts on wn1 that have been severely disadvantaged due to loss of troops/res/heroes/cities etc IS sadly pure evony but on an order of magnitude even its loyal gamers never imagined they might see.
I truly think evony may have gone too far this time.. noone I know of who has lost their account will ever start a new one from scratch. Most of those whose accounts are active on wn1 but essentially wrecked seem set to leave if a fix is not made in full. Oh and (like with the wall boost) evony has taken an issue of under-populated servers and answered by making one new server with every possible space filled.
Oh and opening the new server having obviously not tested it and then, once informed that a massive amount of accounts are missing or corrupted but to still leave that server running shows the utter ineptitude of those who proclaim to provide an ultimate gaming experience.
The only possible answer now would be to close wn1 and reset it (after full testing) with all accounts present and correct and preferably with a larger map. Or just rollback everyone to their original W1-W5 servers from last Friday.
Mods I know ur probably as much in the dark as everyone else but u wanted to be mods and right now ur the only portals we have to communicate our outrage and sheer frustration at what the devs have done to us. Pls don’t close this thread or reply with a link to an update or complaints thread.. ive read them all (and posted on the issue report thread) but as yet still don’t have an account on wn1 and still have no idea what went wrong or whats being done to fix it.
Devs.. it may only be the players of W1-W5 affected at the moments but seeing how this is ur crowning glory in a long history of badly judged and executed ‘gaming enhancements’ have no doubt all evony players are watching this unfold and asking if they really see any future in continuing to play this game, let alone ever spend money on it.
In conclusion shut down wn1 now.. u really have no choice there and either rollback to the separate worlds or set wn1 up properly and open only when tested and ready; and please let us know whats going on.. post some kind of pertinent update to let us know what is being done to rectify this situation.
I haven’t spent a lot on game cents but if this situation isn’t rectified I will personally be seeking a full refund on all cents purchased by myself and would strongly urge all others in a similar situation to do the same.
