altho i have an 360 its broken down 2 times and its 5 months old (still broke)
i would say that the ps3 a better console as its has a much less chance of it to brake
Sure thing, that will be in the next update along with;
What buildings do
What not to do
How to talk to other players
and more
360.
PS3 is for the kids that think they're cool.
Bravo! :D You're guide really helped me. So, many thanks dude.

@Order
all games consoles are made for kids!
but both the 360 and ps3 has games for adults
Xbox all the way.
thing is, the ps3 doesn't actually have any "good" games, not including MGS.
I appreciate the input, as I'm always willing to modify a theory to fit changing conditions or admit when it is flawed but I question a few things you suggest:
1) Get more data -
What more data would be required? This game has *no* random variables in it. Anything that is done once will be repeated every time. The only variation is one that has been suggested by Angel_Fires battle link, in which ranged selection takes place. This hardly matters as A: it seems to select the highest value target first (which you want) and B: You want to break down all oversized ranged units anyway. I can certainly attack more players with hundreds of thousands of archers and towers in their towns, but to what end? What is it you think will change? This method is, I will admit, a big pain in the rear end, and thus I need a reason to push me towards spending the time and energy of shuttling resources around to all my towns to pump out scouts. If its just "because something could be different" well I'll leave things stand as they are. I have proven the method works, and barring some reason when it wouldn't I need not disprove all possible alternatives.
2) Hurting Economy -
That is not the point of this method, as has been suggested earlier in the thread the best way to hurt someones economy when they are this size is to farm their barb farms, crippling their gold / food intake. This can be done using a conventional army much more effectively. This method is for destroying a cities defenses, plundering their stores, and if you are particularly nasty, barbing their hard built city.
3) Cost ratios -
Again, scouts are ONLY meant for killing entrenched archer / balli armies in cities which are not otherwise possible to attack due to the new range mechanics. They are not a substitute for a real army. When you reach a reasonable threshold of defenders you must use a real army to finish the last steps. As an attacker you will *always* be at a disadvantage when attacking someone of similar military strength. The patch made it an unreasonable disadvantage, this is a method of making it reasonable again, not an I-WIN button.
An addendum - When considering cost / time, consider instead of a 1:1 comparison between scouts and archers, consider instead the cost / time of using any other unit. Reports flood the forums every day, choose whichever you like, an consider the archers / ballistae / catapults / cavalry / cataphracts / swords / pike / wars lost and the amount of units the kill, and compare those values to that of the scout. This is the only real measure of cost of resource / time in attacking a large defended player.
I wasn't going to go looking for reports, but some happened to be on the front page so I thought I'd repost them for comparison:
http://battle5.evony.com/default.htm...a47c1f1b42.xml
50k Archers and 15k Ballistae attack a weakly defended town, killing only 20k archers. (Attack fails as well)
http://battle5.evony.com/default.htm...5792db002b.xml
70k Archers and 6k Ballistae attack a even weaker town, killing only 6k archers. (Attack fails as well)
4) One-on-One vs. Many attackers -
I actually mention in the OP that this method is enhanced by multiple people building for it. This is of course true of any attack and so I did not emphasize it, as it seems a given. This method could be used in a one-on-one encounter, at least from my own experience, but that may not ring true for all. I had 8 cities with 15-20 barracks a piece and unlimited resources essentially. This will be harder to achieve in our modern day and age so I agree that maybe I should have stressed as you did that this will best be done with a group of people.
What I will mention is that due to the inherent speed of scouts multiple attackers is about a billion times easier to co-ordinate. Instead of trying to manipulate hours of march time difference in troops from various cities around the map (and people needing to go out or to sleep and whatnot), you need instead manipulate a march time difference of mere minutes. Add on top of that the lowering of warning time of impending attack reducing the chance of pre-warning for alliance reinforcement.
A single launch pad city with a real army could lay dormant as scouts pour out from around the map hitting a city with minutes interspersed. When the timing becomes appropriate, the launch city can pump its army out and do its nasty deeds.
Again, I welcome comments, suggestions, critiques, but try to bear in mind precisely what this method is intended for. It is not the new "how to attack players" guide, I clearly stated it is a (currently the only) method of breaking down a fortified heavily entrenched and defended town of an end-game player.
I'd marry a mixer.

How do I get started playing Civony?
The easiest way to get started in Civony is by following the Quests that pop up on your screen each time you log in. These guides will walk you through the beginnings of creating your town, recruiting hero's, gaining money and resources, and building offensive and defensive units. It will also provide you with a large amount of goods to quickly get your first town running efficiently and answer most of the questions that follow.
How do I log off?
There is no log off option at this time, simply close your browser window or navigate to another page. Your town will continue to gain gold and resources, research technologies, build buildings, and suffer attacks from other players. When you return to Civony's site, you will be prompted to login to your account.
How do I increase the population of my town?
The simple answer to this is to build or upgrade your cottages. Each cottage increases your base population max to allow for more people to move in. The catch is that your current population will match your towns loyalty. So if you have a max population of 1000 people with a loyalty of 80, you will have 800 citizens.
People do not show up immediately, you will have to wait some time for them to come in after increasing your max population or adjusting your tax rate. You can also find a few items that will give a boost to your population or use the 'Population Raising' option from your town hall's 'Comforting' tab.
You can read about this in more detail here: http://bbs.civony.com/showthread.php?t=189
WoW, Starcraft.
Unless the forum rules changed since i last read them you are not allowed to post other browser game names.
Building & Buildings
How do I build X building?
To build, go to your town screen (the default one that shows when you log in) and select an empty square. Choose the building you want to build and click the button below it. If the button is gray, you do not have the requirements for that building yet. Check the description and anything in red text is required before you can build. All buildings require a certain number of resources, others require other buildings or technologies before you can build it.
Research & Technology
How do I research technology?
Technologies are learned in your towns Academy. Once built, click your Academy building and select the technology you want to learn. Many technologies are dependent upon building levels and levels of lesser technologies. They will also cost a significant amount of gold and other resources.
Technologies will follow you to other towns, but you must have your Academy in those towns at the minimum required level for the technology requirement for it to have any effect.
Units, Heros, and Mayor/Castellan
How do I recruit a Hero?
Recruiting a Hero requires two buildings - an Inn to recruit from, and a Feasting Hall for them to reside in. Once these buildings are completed, go to the Inn, choose a Hero, and click the button to recruit them. The will now be found in your Feasting Hall. Recruiting additional Hero's requires upgrading your Feasting Hall another level, and upgrading your Inn allows for more choices in Hero's, and ones of higher levels.
What does a Castellan do?
The Castellan is basically the mayor of your town. The stats of these hero have been found to affect your town in the following manner:
- Politics increases resource production
- Attack increases troop production times
- Intelligence speeds up research times
The Castellan cannot be sent out to attack while in this position, but does gain experience for things that are built and researched in the town.
How do I build units?
Building units requires a Barracks to be build first. More advanced units require the Barracks to be upgraded before you will be allowed to recruit. To recruit an available unit, select the unit and input the number you would like to create. You will see on screen the resource cost of the group you are creating and the amount of time it will take. Units are created in groups, so if you need them immediately, you will want smaller group sizes. Upgrading your Barracks level will allow you to queue up units to recruit.
Resources & Gold
How do I get more resources?
To get Food, Wood, Stone or Iron you must build the appropriate building. First, click on the City button in the upper right to get out of the town view, then select an open area and build the resource you want. As you upgrade your town hall, the number of open spots increases for additional resources to be built. Otherwise upgrade these buildings to gain more of that type.
You will also want to grow your population to create enough workers to have your production rate at 100% efficiency.
If you need additional resources beyond what you are producing you have a few temporary options:
- Go to your marketplace and buy resources that other players are selling
- Run a Levy to gain an increase of the needed resource (this will drop your towns Loyalty)
- Use one of the game items to give an increase of the needed resource for either 24 hours or 7 days depending on the item used. (Only increases the percentage of that resource that is coming in!)
- Complete a quest that grants that resource (if possible)
- attack a nearby valley (usually gives a small amount of random resource plus the small increase from owning that land)
How do I gain gold?
Gaining gold can be a difficult endeavor. Following the in-game quests you will be instructed to raise your tax rate to 20% to get a decent bit of gold coming in. If you haven't noticed already, the tax rate is directly proportional to your towns loyalty, in that if you raise taxes to 30%, your loyalty will drop to 70%.
Raising your population will bring in more people to pay taxes, which results in more money for you as well. Build and upgrade cottages to create more tax payers.
As a temporary fix, you can also do the following:
- Sell extra resources to other players through your marketplace
- Use an in-game item to temporarily increase your tax income
- Run a levy to generate gold (will lower town loyalty)
- Complete a quest that gives gold as a reward
Here are a few links to forum topics related to getting gold:
- An argument for keeping tax rate at 50%: http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=511
- Lord Wellington's 100% tax rate plan: http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=490
That city you attacked had only those 90k archers. Nothing much else. The attack you are comparing it too (link next time I don't remember the specifics) would most likely wipe that city you are describing.
Those other links are mostly worthless as comparison, what are the tech levels, wall levels? Beside that those are all much stronger than the town you attacked. Not only did you slip in your "revised" attacks to cover up your original, you seem to have found a lopsided case to illustrate its effectiveness.
As for some other comments about the 1 scout attacking, this has been done since beta. It works because the speed allows the scout to get in range and tap a defender and if any defender is hit for even 1 point, 1 will die.
It had 97k archers, which for all intents and purposes is 100,000. WMD made the case that 50,000+ archers is essentially invincible, hence 100,000 is the same as 200,000, is the same as 300,000. Make a reasoned argument why they would change the outcome in any way shape or form and I will do revisions. It also had thousands of catapults and ballistae, and thousands of melee units. You CANNOT kill scouts faster than 1 round, so why does that make any difference anyway? Don't be obtuse with this "oh that other attack if hypothetically launched at this city would have destroyed everything and wiped it all clean and gained a billion gold". You know for a fact it's not true with your own post in the other thread, so coming here and contradicting yourself just makes you look foolish.
I didn't "slip" anything in, I revised my argument because people like you want to attack anything that doesn't fit with their narrow view, and that doesn't change the success at all.
I gave you 2 scouting reports with all the tech / fort levels, so if you actually read instead of troll then you'd know. You were proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that your silly attacks were wrong, and while I give you credit for still trying, I'd give you much more credit if you'd admit it.
Just out of curiosity, can you test this against someone who has scouts in their base? Even just one scout, and say 100k archers and a few ballista?
If I understand the game mechanics correctly, one scout would get the scout bomb slaughtered.
Also, please test it on someone with closed gates to.
I suppose I could test it on a scout base, that WOULD be a big flaw, and an annoying one at that. A good thing to consider thanks. I will try to hop on my account before its totally dead and do some tests on this tonight.
However gates closed I have already stated will murder the crap out of your scouts. They will fight and kill a few forts but not enough to be worth the cost. This is *not* to be used against closed gates and should be used when you are confident they will not be able to close the gates on you.
Population
Fortifications
So this strategy only works against people who will leave their gates open for an attack their walls can kill with almost no losses, and who also do not have scouts in their base?
Any strategy that can be slaughtered by unchecking a box or training one unit while the attacker's army is on the way is effectively worthless. It might occasionally work against offline people who are not experienced enough to know that a few thousands scouts in every base is a good idea, but it isn't a way to crack the uncrackable egg.
A good thought, but if this tactic ever became popular, it would fizzle out in a week when people factored in the scout bomb into their defensive thinking.
Right, my narrow view has already seen this sort of thing play out weeks ago. Why rehash something that has proven ineffective?
At any rate, someone else has decided to give your "new" strategy a try. The results: an unknown quantity of scouts killed 1400 towers.
The problem is that the battle system needs a do-over from the June 1 changes. Even if scouts were as effective as you seem to think, they would be fixed so that they are not effective. Use you head.
Interesting concept, but like you said its only effective with multiple attackers that could devote time to build a week or so worth of scouts. Instead of building scouts, they could've massed rams that would've done the job more effectively. That is 100k rams each, sent by 3-4 players (300-400k rams) can take out a 200k archer with 50k ballista + towers. The last couple waves could probably take minor losses and clean out the remaining defenses. There was a post in battle reports that showed a 100k ram army killing 210k archers, but unable to finish the 15k towers and 50k ballista and further reinforcements the person received. Good effort on the testing, I've seen 300 scouts kill 318 archers as well from someone scout bugging into attack mode. Looks like your testing shows that mass scouts can get through the meat and do some minor damage to the defender. I think I'll stick to pre-emptively removing players before they mass those archers though until they rebalance the games defense/attack mechanics.
If that movie does come out, i wish that Alice would die, seriously, she doesnt, and shouldnt even have a place in RE series.
What i am looking forward to is Leon Kenndy and Chris Redfield since they are actually the real heros in RE series, and it should be Chris who kills Wesker.
I like Navyfield.
