Jump in all you like :)
My answer is thus, before, i would have accepted it as part of the game... Now? I see that the game makers listened to the suggestions (which they asked for) of the players and then used it as a way to extort money... your account CAN be safe, but only if you pay us for the priviledge... which considering the market they aim this game at is totally unsavory. It's distasteful and proves the developers care more about profit than making the community game they claim too. simple as that
7 day cooldown? That's a good one. I apparently never saw this thread you wrote so...wouldn't know what else you said. You can always toss on a truce afterwards for extra time.
You may give them the 7 days they require to build up, but after you've jus' laid waste to them, all they're gunna be doin' is recoverin' from it; they won't advance much (if at all) past what they were before your initial attacks...especially if you took all their resources.
You can also coordinate with allies to have reinforcements ready for your return or even get them to continue to beatin' while you're away. By the time you return (refreshed, w/o a troop lost and all their resources) they've been under seige and they can't retaliate any further.
As I say, I don't think that the price tag fixes the issue, not by a long shot, but it very well achieves a widespread preventative on abuse without imposin' so many restrictions. No huge cooldowns...editable times...works for long weekends and holidays. By the time it gets as combatative as yur idea it becomes very restricted.
Their idea remains loose but won't get abused, as we can see from the amount of "omg it's terrabul" posts there are.
Might as well not even be one, you say?
Well I'd say there shouldn't be anyways, but that's jus' my opinion.
Unless he's taken a very different feel for this than me, I'd say that this is a discussion, not an argument. I mean, no matter what either of us say we can both give an opposin' solution that breaks it; this could be endless, but if it ultimately works out in a fair, balanced mechanic with as few exploits as possible, then all the better for us.

Well in all honesty, if you lay someone to waste what does it matter if you are in VM? It's not like they could attack you anyways. And if we get into the whole alliance deal, why even go into VM if you have reinforcements ready from allies? I mean if its just 1 user and you have an entire alliance behind you, why bother? That's more wasted effort and time on your side than theirs.
It is very damn dumb to be charged to be on vacation mode!!! forget that stuff!! if i need a break imma just take it then, i am not gonna pay to be on a vacation... they are more retarded than the typos and grammatical errors all over in the game itself if they expect me to pay.. HAHAHAHAHA
Well yeah, but give people time to find a way to loop it and they will. I'm jus' spinnin' ideas off the top of my head and I'm goin' to sleep soon so s'not likely to be right on the ball.
I mean, when the game started no one even thought 500k troops was possible...but given time they found a way to make it happen. Your list looks good though...feels a bit tight and the 7 day minimum is a bite for the long-weekenders, but looks good overall.
I had no idea it was on that thread....I've been on that thread as well...guess I jus' never paid too much attention to it (not wantin' one at all) and then hen this all started I mus have jus' jumped to the back page...
I apparently wasn't payin' attention

LOL
so you have to pay to not play.
amazing
I would like to see the statistics. How many people have actually paid for this rip-off so far?
So? Kingdom of Loathing (a popular text-based MMORPG) asks for donation when you purchase Mr. Accessories. It's also a for-profit corporation, and has never advertised itself as anything but.
Perhaps you should learn what a nonprofit is before you slam Evony for failing to act like one.
