As it is, the OP is really only discussing normal time (non-paying) and accelerated time (paying).
If you are only managing a 0.0016% draop rate, then I have to inform you that your tactics are ineffective and inefficient - which should go without saying, right?
For example, using 400 warriors to attack a level 4 valley will yield a medal drop nearly 50% of the time. This has probably been reduced since I have not bothered with level 4's in a long time. As valleys and NPC's increase in level, the number decrease, but this should be expected.
The argument I'm taking away from this discussion is "non-paying players should have an easier time acquiring medals." Think about this for a moment. If non-paying players are given a easier route, then don't the paying players also benefit? Of course, they do. If Evony were simplified more than it is, Evony would have fewer paying players. The goal in this business model is to establish where the balance and cut-off are for paying players versus making the game to easy to progress. Also, at what point does Evony become the most attractive for non-paying players to buy-in while not giving any significant advantage to players who have already paid in?
Evony is doing a perpetual balancing act. Every tweak they make yields both cheers and jeers. The jeers just happen to be louder than the cheers since the cheering folks aren't on the forums thanking Evony... they are in the game destroying the competition: you.
