Prestige, in high numbers, mean something, people don't get to 1-4mil prestige by doing nothing. They have a decent sized army and a good knowledge of the game. Anything less, useless. But in the end, ONLY look at your scout report.

In the end, wouldn't it be more precise to say that Prestige means very little?
I mean, it must mean something or we wouldn't be posting in this forum. It must mean something to the top alliances or they wouldn't make prerequisites of it...
To me, Prestige marks how dedicated a player is to Evony. I know that when I see a player at 300k+ they care enough to play the game quite a bit. At that level it tells me I should be a little more wary. If I see a player at 1 million or more prestige I know they must be dangerous. Maybe it's not the most accurate indication of their skill but it tells me something. Do I want to waste 20k scouts (or whatever) trying to scout them when I can reasonably assume that a million prestige player will have their gates open and annihilate them because they have over 100k scouts in each city?
We all agree that scouting is your best tool- but I am of the opinion that prestige is a somewhat useful indication of a player's strength. (Lack of it doesn't mean as much as having it though)
Prestige is not useless, is a very good indicator about players strength ... the fact that you don't have a lot of prestige does not mean it is useless :)
If i see a player with 800k prestige I NOW his cities are worth keeping and will not be easy to take them down. If i see a player with less that 300k prestige, he is very likely a newbee or not very active. I am sooo tired of reading topics bashing the prestige indicator.
To summ up, prestige is NOT worthless, au contraire.

Aetius
Prestige IS Worthless :D.
Btw I'm ranked 1st on Prestige on my server so it's not like I say it out of envy on someone :D.
And I know plenty 300k Prest Players who can easily take out a 500k Prestige or more on their own while some 300k Prestige I know couldn't even take out a 100k experienced Player :D.
prestige is really worth nothing, some high prestige guys can be defeated by lower prestige guys, for I think honor is the real deal, just my opinion
Depends on the Alliance. I don't care about Prestige when I recruit Players. And my Alliance is a Top one on the server I play. Of course I set some minimum in Introduction like 100k Prestige and 2 Cities to avoid 0 Prestige or 10k Prestige noobs from Applying, or 500k Prestige Civilians (worthless Prestige builders not good for an Alliance).
In the end when they get Accepted I only care about their Military Capacity (Technology, Walls lv, Capacity of fast troop making, Army, Fortifications, etc). If I see they don't have what it takes I don't bother reinforcing them or helping them out. If they have some decent minimums I help them however I can.
So not all Top Alliances go for Prestige :D.
Honor comes and goes and depends a fair bit on what type of battles you participate in. You can win a battle and lose honor. You can turtle up and have massive honor from other players attacks without making an aggressive move.
There isn't really a good way to judge another player's strength or skill until the battle reports start coming in.
Hate to burst your enthusiasm on Honor but it is a setback. If you attack a higher Honor dude and you have like 0 Honor you get 50%-65% Troops back from Medic Camp (depends on the Honor of your opponent). So I much rather have low Honor and know when I attack with say multiple 100k Archer waves a Strong Player I get 50% the least back (if I activate Penicilin much more). So if I loose 2 of the waves I get 1 back from Medic Camp :D.
Depends how you play though, I don't like having high Honor. Usualy I sort it out by Scout sacrificing/Warrior sacrificing :D. To stay low on it.
actually, I know that. and if your really that strong, and can whip up a new batch of troops, it doesn't matter, just shows you really strong,
