I used an example of level 7 walls costing millions of stone - a sum which cannot be amassed in a day starting from scratch for any non-allied lords without buying in. You wished to argue that example.
As a result, you are saying Evony is not growing and players are not paying in when there is clear evidence they are. My example, and the abundance of lords with level 7 walls on Server Day 2 who are not allied, proves many, if not all of them, are buying in.
In short, argue with someone who will join in on the argument. I can see with my own eyes who is buying in and in what kind of volume. Evnoy is, in fact, growing and make a lot of moolah.
It's the Town Hall that changes the appearance of cities not walls.
Can you explain to me how cents can net you 5m stone?
Not a joke btw; I cannae think of a way it works. Buyin' resources directly is in extremely limited increments and buff bonuses won't count for much at that stage...there's no resource packages and bonus bundles only give 20k...unless they bought about 1k amulets and scored resources on every single one of them...
Sorry but your ignorance is shining through.
Walls 7, TH 7 isn't too difficult to do in a day or 2. It's called unbalanced character creation, determined by 8 amulets given to everyone on day one, in the first 2 hrs. What you get from those dictate where you stand in a week and where you might stand in a month. You get mech, I get a jr. Batt. You win, I am a farm. With all due respect, if you are spending money here You are a moron of epic proportions.
So, how do we n00bs get such high resources?
I spent $5 on the new bonus thing that was offered. No way it got me anything close to that kind of resource development.
Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed in the game because there seems to be little or no politics going on. Sure, resource management and city building can be fun for a couple days or a week. But what's the point of having alliances and wars if there is no politics?
I hope I didn't waste my 5 bucks.
Production is irrelevant. Resources can be obtained easily from the start either by alliance, quest, or trading on the market. Furthermore, there is no way to tell what level walls someone has while they are still in beginner's protection unless you ask them. You cannot scout them, and the city on the map is based on their level of town hall, not wall, and if they've built their town hall past 5 on only the second day of playing, they probably either have no idea what they're doing and ignored the 'lv 5 town hall takes you out of BP' message, or are an experienced player who already has the resources necessary and has no need of beginner protection. I left mine after four or five days so I could start farming NPCs earlier.
Edit - the forums are also not representative of who is or isn't spending money. A very small percentage of any game's players even come to its forums at all, for the most part, and people who complain on the forums are only an indicator, not a perfect sample of how many people approve or disapprove of something. Whether one thinks evony's management is excellent or terrible, their advertising is massive, and people are going to keep coming and spending money until the game has exhausted the interested population. How long that lasts is another story, though.
For politics of any degree you have to get in an alliance fairly high up (not top10 or anythin'..aim for top100~top300 usually). Typically below those numbers you jus' get the guys who made alliances to look cool or order people around or w/e.
The game starts off slow and any kind of political issues don't come up fast at all; if you'r epatient it should pay off, though.
@ucsmb: got an answer for me, yet? I'd really still like to know how buyin' cents can net several players 5m+ resources within a day...I mean..it's your proof and all and you're sayin' I'm jus' arguin' for the sake of it; how about you actually give me a valid response instead of jus' tryin' to shun/ignore me?
From level 0 to level 7 walls, it takes 62 hours. 2 days and 14 hours, simply.
It takes 1,270,000 units of stone in order to make that happen. It is only too easy to get that much stone for less than 500,000 gold, which you can make easily in the first day or two.
