S'gunna take 'em weeks to clean all that up.
*shudder*
Isn't a dust storm of that magnitude rare for Sydney?
There was a typhoon in the outback that blew it all over into the city.
Defintely rare, but it was a pretty heavy typhoon.
A typhoon in the outback, wow. I thought they could only form over sea and coastal areas.
wow, not a great day for Australia.Quote:
The freak weather, which also rained large hailstones over New South Wales and formed a mini-tornado near Canberra, coincided with a pair of minor earthquakes in Victoria and 21 bush fires in Queensland.
Really is as far removed as you can get from my land...distance wise, and disaster...
My wee country's yet to have a natural disaster! :D
wow! for talking about the weather, this thread is realy grabing... (no i'm not being sarcastic drop your hackels) the only thing we've had odd 'round here is that spring was so late... it usualy shows up around mid march, but the farmes couldnt get the spring planting in till June!! i guess the world weather realy is messed up....
Guess what its sunny in Edinburgh, can you believe it?
Candle, odd let see. Most of the time the summer around here is hot, so far this year there was one hot week. The rest of the time the weather is like spring, chilly and raining. We have had quite a few sunny days, but nights have dropped down into the 50's quite a bit after being up to the 70's and 80's during the day.
*wispers* is the earth mad??
*normal voice* no thats silly

Coffee is a hot beverage. If you want to drink it cold, you want to drink something that tastes like crap.
Ever hear of the Tim Hortons Ice Coffee or some such thing? I'm reminded of a story:
I was standing outside, talking with a friend of mine. We start talking about Time Horton's Iced Beverage (It being november, and us being cold as hell), and I asked "What kind of stupid BLEEP drinks an ICed Beverage in this weather?"
No sooner did I finish saying it then a hot girl walks past me, looks down at her Iced Beverage, and looks at me, and then walks away in shame.
Good times. Good times.
Lol Storm.
I always do that... I like buy a hot chocolate on a hot day and a coke or frappuccino on a cold day, don't know why...
It's because you're insane. Too lat eto hope for recovery, you're already not caring about the weather. Sorry to break it to you this way, man. You've been White Ninja'd.
so we're taking about coffee now?? i dont drink it. i like steemers. hot frothy milk with some flavor or another added in. good stuff
I've always thought that kids start drinking coffee for the same reasons they start smoking. They see a friend doing it, (or other kids) and they think it's cool or grown up. God knows it can't be the taste that draws them in. Then they become addicted and as adults they can't live without it. Eventually ulcers develop and they're told by their doctor "no more coffee!". Depression takes the place of coffee and they spend the rest of their days wandering around in a foggy despair.
I've tried really hard to be a coffee drinker but I've given up. I find the smell and the taste disgusting. (yet I smoke, go figure)
I drink my coffee with three packets of sugar and a lot of creamer/milk.
