It's not that much of a stretch though, steel is much harder then lead, especially after the process of making a katana.

MxC is awesome.

I think if you shoot a bullet at any sharp object you would game the same effect. High carbon steel = strength, samurai swords are high carbon steel. Bullets are usually made out of a soft metal, so naturally the soft metal will split on contact.

yeah but to think that the bullet didnt do more dmg to the blade is the amazing thing.. since strong ass tornadoes can stick straw into trees..

This video is pretty obviously faked.
Bullets fired from a gun spin because of the rifling of the barrel. The only exceptions are a shotgun slug and very old muzzle loaders. The bullet is made to spin to improve accuracy, otherwise it would wobble around and lose it's trajectory.

I would expect a spinning lead slug to hit and shatter into many pieces, not split in two.
Perhaps a sword could withstand damage from a lead slug but the split into two pieces bit is not right.
