I did but only if we could stop that machine from being built.
*SIGH*
Do you believe everything the media tells you?
we have better things to build then that stupid machine and other things thats also better then building aswell like ending world hunger.
Do you know what the machine is and what it does?
its apost to make little black holes but its gonna really make not a small one but a big one.
*SIGH*
What is the machine called? Is it called the Hadron Collider? It smashes two atoms together. That's it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadron_Collider
milo do you think they should destory it instead?
No, for petesake just stop already! You don't even know what the Hadron Collider does, you're just regurgitating what you heard on the television! No, I don't think they should destroy it just because some Nostradamus show said they should.
to let you know I only beleive in this bad 2012 stuff 5%.
so... the other 19/20 of you is saying "This is bull"? It's that, like, destroying you right now then, because it would be like 1 person wants to do it, but 19 others say no, and you do what the one person says...
Ah, I'm confusing myself again. To make it simple - why are you talkin about this then?
Because she's Rik.
I was wondering if this topic would stop the machines construction.
Most likely not. The government doesn't look much at evony.
besides the 2012 stuff I watched the modern marvels, discovery channel and nat geo channel so Im actully pretty smart.
Hey, I wanna make a thread dedicated to spam. Should I?
*eye twitch*
*knife moves slowly towards wrist*
If I had a dime for every time....You wouldn't happen to live in Alabama, would you?
Nyuk nyuk nyuk nyuk.
Anyway, watching smart people TV doesn't mean you're smart. Many of the things that have been on those channels, such as Mythbusters, articles on the Loch Ness Monster, and whatever happens on National Geographic are often nothing more than entertaining a notion of "what if?" In other words, pseudoscience. Shows that are on Discovery channel, although more educational than, say, Comedy Central, are meant mostly for entertainment value and not pure education. For example, look once again at Mythbusters. Rant end.
Smart and knowledgable are different things.
Becasue yone may know a lot of trivia, information, facts, theories and even current events doesn't make them smart.
And not to sound rude, but you've not displayed much knowledge of any of the discussed topics in this thread.
Stephen Hawkin' does more than study black holes.
Physisists study more than black holes.
The LHC was not designed to create black holes.
The LHC was designed as a scientific experiment to prove an outstandin' theory.
A discussion on the LHC (a wildly vague one at that) will not ever come close to the deconstruction of the LHC itself, which shouldnae be an issue seein' as it had severe coolin' faults before the test and it never even started. It won't be operational again for some time.
Fixin' world hunger is a not a concern physisists deal w/; leave that to the government and various charities.
I'm pretty sure the movie is crap too. It was made by Hollywood... not my #1 source if I was writing a research paper, if ya catch my drift.
Hollywood is in it for the money, not accuracy.
movies based on real life or on real science never really is in theatres at all.
That's because real life is much less entertaining than reel life.
I know since I know some people likes foot ball more then science lol.
... My head hurts. I think I'm gonna call it a nigh- *Falls asleep on keyboard, a bit of droll hanging out of his mouth*
I feel your pain, Joe.
*Counts the amount of sighs in thread*
Wow. This is either an incredibly tiring set of words or someone's a major dissapointment.
I know a superbowl can't teach but its better then science to some.
Yes, I suppose a superbowl could teach somethings....
*sigh*
Can someone please explain it to her? It's getting to the point of being creepy. And no, I don't mean explaining the thread's topic.
Movies jus' pick out random things and put on some sfx, bright lights and pumpin' music to sell.
They will even lie and make crap up. Some company made a movie abuot sharks or w/e and used a scientists journal in reference, but actually made up several pages that don't exist in the real paper. They got sued for that, mind you.
But you cannae watch tv and expect it to tceah you; entertainment is all it is. If you want to actually learn, you'll have to start readin' things more and watchin' thnigs less.
For a nice wee start, how about you go onto Wikipedia, earch a random page and jus' link off from there.
As for this superbowl...well...forgive me, but I've no idea what it is so I got nothin' on that :x
reading books are sometimes really good and you can go on adventures sometimes to.
superbowl is the championship for handegg.
Football is just a bunch of grown men in tights grabbing balls from between each others legs. And then hugging.
How has this been so utterly derailed?
