The drop rate on newer servers is good only if you attack high level vallys (9-10) I get a few per night farming the high level vallys. I like it this way, keeps people from moving up to fast.

I have over 1k of attacks on lvl9 and 10 valleys and have gotten 1 lion medal. add my name to the list...

Make it difficult, I like a challenge. But don't make it nearly impossible. I also went bu the evonypedia, and it does not work. I hit the same lvl4 lake almost 500 times and got nothing. Then I go and get a lvl9 lake for my food production and get a Rose when I take it over. Sounds good right? Except when I went to my items to see that I would now be only 2 Rose shy of Baronet, I was still 3 Rose shy. It never gave it to me!
It may be time for me to start spending more time on Imperion.
Ya they do need to change the medal drop rate back to 1-10 or something close to that the current is crazy, Petion signed.

even 1/100 would be acceptable compared to what i've been experiencing..
seriously i've been attacking 1-3 valleys on a new server on and off for over 10 hours today.. not one medal >.>

This is ridiculous! I use to be able to get medals by the most common methods explained in the evony wiki but now the valleys do not even regenerate like they use to. Hit it more than once and you do not even get any resources or kill any troops as it is blank. Then I hit a lvl4 npc and it showed that I got a Lion Medal but when I went into my Items it was not there. Slowly but surely I am finding more and more reasons to just forget about Evony because their Free Game Play Forever just seems to be a lot of BS and false advertising.
You don't get it yet, do you? This is no longer about slowing down progression. This is simply a money grab. I'm not saying they don't have the right to do so, I'm just calling a spade a spade.
The problem with nixing the drop rates in this manner is they hurt both the paying players, the semi-paying players and the for free players. They hurt the paying players because they are forced to spend their coins on medal boxes instead of teleports, excaliburs, and all the other nice items they would normally get more of. They hurt the semi-pay players because now they end up just slightly better off than the for free players, but in a worse position than those who pay even more because the coins they would have spent on those extra items on medal boxes, if at all, and if they don't they end up in a slightly better position than the for free, but with the same medal problems. They practically devastate the for free players by removing from them the ability to get medals until they hit critical mass which the pay players and/or players who started on the server much earlier can prevent them from doing. Eventually, the for-free players will either quit or get farmed until they quit because they cannot get over the knight promotion due to not being able to get the medals they need for promotion. This game isn't fun when you cannot get past that and get beat to a pulp because you cannot build troops fast enough to compete with the players with 4+ cities.
You end up driving away customers because they are no longer getting decent value for what they spend, and you can only mis-treat them so long before they decide they've had enough and go elsewhere. Am I saying they are mis-treating their customers? If you listen to those who are their paying customers who started on the newer servers, then quite possibly.
