I do. Its a war game...
there is one guy who douse he just takes all the flats
I only attack those cities which aren't being used or played anymore.
I hit anyone ~20miles from me, As long as there townhall/walls is level 5+ and has at least 1mill of every resource...
Im going to launch an attack on a city within the next few hours when i round my troops up,
Im about to hit this base,
This is not a tea party. Where did you get the sense of fairness from? In war you use everything you have. This is a war game. I see little to stop me from taking what I can.
If you don't want to be farmed, make sure you're not profitable by using as many resources as you can, spreading the rest between towns, and turning your production down to keep from having too much excess. If you're not worth the trouble, they won't bother.
If I could see the statistics that prove "most" I'd be willing to believe. As of yet, I feel that most people will take from those that can be taken from.
if youre talking to me Zamte im not being attacked at the moment. Ive just seen my allies being almostr crushed by more experiened players just because the rules have changed.
7 Day BP is enough to build a rather substantial army and defense. I find it perfectly acceptable after seven days to be attacked.
I didn't mean you specifically, but anybody. There are three reasons to fight in this game. Resources, Enemies, and Boredom. Resources will almost always be the reason that smaller players get attacked, and they can lower production and use their resources, or build warehouses to keep themselves safe. If you don't smart off to people in mails/whispers, or repeatedly attack towns/valleys belonging to stronger players, you won't make enemies. Boredom isn't really "cureable", but it's often short lived anyways, so it's passing.
You knew you were to be attacked, and that the seven day period was all you had, barring truce scrolls. Again, I fail to see why you would have an undersized army. You would recognize the dangers from the size of the attacks displayed on the forums and react, building a rather large army.
i had no idea about the war until my seven days protection was up and someone attacked me.
Then you should look in the alliance panel at wars. There's little reason to be so unaware.
i had no idea what the alliance panel was at that time. there were no instructions to the game. i just registered, and i was off. i had to learn what to do myself.
You had seven days to explore the game interface. I myself found the panel on the first day.
In fact, three, and two hours. Yet I was clearly able to find a highly visible panel in the middle of the game screen. Crazy.
how is it crazy. its not exactly in the middle of the game screen.
It's clearly visible, next to icons that you click EVERY DAY.
yes i know but i wasnt in an alliance until the last day of my protection so i didnt bother to look at it. the only way i thought that alliance stuff would apply to me at that time was through my embassy.
there is no way for a player to protect themselves from having their resources and gold taken, wall defenses destroyed, army destroyed, and every city except one taken away.
a determined attacker (or group) can do these things to anyone.
I do not expect this to change.
Yes, the established and experienced do "pick" on the weaker. It's a game revolving around survival of the fittest. I doubt it will change, and nor should it.
If you can't figure out what's goin on in 7 days you probably shouldn't keep playin on the 8th. I'm serious that's a good long time to figure it out. 1 or 2 if you just pay attention. Explore your options, click on everything, and you actually dont have to click everything, hover your mouse over tabs, it gives you most info you need. The world chat drives me nuts in any server because there's a 100 people with 50 million questions being asked a piece. The game's fine, the 8th day is incentive to get better and prepare for the worst.
I can say that if you don't want to be picked on, please pick the newest server possible. I don't like to rely on alliances to help me and I didn't know about those "hiding resources and stuff" till way late into my development. This is something that takes time and it's quite stupid (if not outright arrogant) for experienced players to think everyone can figure all this out by their 1st week. Maybe where all the buttons are and how to build...but definitely not all the offensive and defensive mechanics.
As for me, I'm lucky because I'm one of the early birds in server 2. So i had plenty of time to learn and defend myself. So do yourself a favor and try the newest servers if you're just starting! :)
I'm not even sure you can term this "abuse of power."
It's like real life when the big buff guy kicks sand in your face on the beach and steals your girlfriend. He didn't have any "power" to abuse, he's just a jerk.
I'm with BBQ on this...
If someone builds themselves up well, and spends all of their time making themselves a killing machine, it's the time they spent, and that should not be revoked. That being said, there are some REAL power hungry jerks who specifically prey on the weak. But that's all they are - jerks. There isn't much you can do about it and if there was there wouldn't be a point to the game.
I agree with Angel and BBQ I think it depends on the person. I personally, am not that agro towards the people around me unless they are obviosly inactive and nothing has changed on there account for 3-4 days at which point I consider them fair game and farm them. Other than that I tend to leave people alone, I like my city I like there city leave well enough alone. Although if you really want to try and attack me I am sure gonna make it hurt you too.
Really? I look at the person Gazza is hitting, and I am not 1/10th of that size. If he wants to hit me, I'd be powerless to stop him doing so.
I hope I've made myself a decently defended, lightly-resourced kingdom, but I'm not really what I'd consider "perfectly acceptable" target for top kingdoms to hit....
The difference of power between old and new players in any multi-player games is always a challenge for a game designer, one that does not readily have a good solution. I think a similar game called Ikarium handles this particularly well. Things overall are much more peaceful than Travian and Civony, and is also created by a much more reputable company. You may wish to try that. They even have a great "vacation mode" so if you are called out for 3 days on an emergency you don't come back to a bunch of razed cities.
Just put all your money into defences. This should be the key aspect when starting, build your defences as high as possible. I have a 50k strong army on server 2 (30k archers, 1,500 ballistas, 20,000 warriors) which can easily take down 3,000-8,000 archer towers however I wouldn't bother doing so unless you had a ton of resources sitting idle.
Of course if you get on someones bad side there is always the option of a city teleport or calling for alliance reinforcements.
Remember, even the oldest players in this game (server 2 at least) have only been playing a month or so. I am ranked #200 on server 2 and have only been playing 2.5 weeks. Don't make yourself a juicy target or smacktalk and you won't be made into a 3 course meal.
This type of games takes commitment and time. You can't come on once a day for 5 minutes and sim.
You can do that playing a single player game.
You have to be better than the next person and play smart. You do get more experience as you go, so just take what you learn and start over if you really need to.
ye, they abuse me and farm me
HELP can any1 protect me please??
Yours
Lord Ahmdo
we've earned our power - protocal is necessary yes but this is a war game; fight for power or be subject to those who do. I have deals with non-allied players who i dont attack for various reasons but the rest are simply targets for strategic gain
wont u protect me mundi?
