Drawing a line - host action/responsibility - you decide
Lets all face it, Evony is a game of War. We win some and we lose some, its part of the game.
But as a host, should we be held accountable to act when a member of our alliance crosses the line of game play?
My personal philosophy being a host of an alliance means I have taken upon myself to make and hold my alliance alliance members to reasonable rules by which our alliance is judged. Violation of which, I have the ability and discretion to expel the offending member from my alliance group.
I hold my members to a basic written standard they agree to when they join. Why, because we have in our midst those of young years and those much older. I understand when players are upset if they lose a city or were attacked, its part of the game and we support our members in those cases. But one thing I personally do not tolerate is crossing the line of play into the realm of real life threats and vulgarity.
I do not tolderate players making physical real life threats or vulgar comments that contain wording such as "rape you in real life, cut you open and leave you to bleed to death for real or wanting to rape your mother or father, hard core." I believe it important as an host not only to ban a player from your midst who would mail mail such comments or threats, but hope individuals receiving such mail to report it.
What I find even more it less tolerable is for a host of any alliance would support support, condone, and/or justify such abhorrent and loathsome comments by saying well your alliance attacked mine or your player attacked mine so they deserved the threatening mail. Or comment, well my players have their own free will, nothing I can do about it.
So lets put it out there. Should a hosts show accountability for their alliance by holding their members responsible for their acts and ultimately upon the character of their alliance?
Lets here it from you, other hosts and players of Evony!
